couldn't find a cheap 2 door found this one in my price range.. painted it then chopped it and welded up the back doors and had the not too good looking short doors, my buddy's helped me find a junked out 2 door Pontiac and got the b-pillars and they helped me find 2 door doors and a merc back window.. and here it is now 5 years later..
I have a 1955 Ford fordor Fairlane . I really like not having to crawl into the back seat . I am getting older and not as limber as I use to be . I always did like 4 doors . Have owned many of them over the years ! They are usually cheaper too ! Retro Jim
Why not do a search and get an already full thread? There seem to be a bunch of "four door" threads... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=406582 That one was even on the first page. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=486616 http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=228612 http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=59115 http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=29059 and then you can find even more with "more door" or "4 door"
Am I cazy or are some of these pictures 4 door 2 door conversions? I dont see the gaps of the rear doors...
You aren't crazy.. Some are welded up and eliminated. Hey.. it's still a 4 dr on the inside! I think.
My mostly stock Lincoln Cosmopolitan My friends give me trouble because it's a 4-door, but the roofline of this one is not damaged by the addition of extra doors in my opinion.
The easiest way to make a 4 door cool-------------------------------- ----------- ----------- ----------- roll the windows down!
Here's the junk box I have been SLOWLY working on for the past few years. Future plans are to stretch/reshape rear quarters slightly, 52 Olds back bumper, nose, deck, shave, lower the rear a few more inches, primer and drive for a while until I can figure out what color she shall be.
I really like pre-'49 more doors and any year wagon as well. I've got a '32 Fordor project (rough) and am contemplating another 4 door project (like I need another ) Steve
