I want you guys to compare that photo to the one being circulated where they ran a new Malibu head on into a 59 Chevy 4 door. When you compare them you will see that my theory about the 4 door being "doctored" before the collision as being accurate. JB2wheeler

This is from the comments on the news coverage of the accident.

If you're going to drive an unsafe old Bomber, you need to pull your head out of your rear and stop at red lights.

Unsafe old bomber? This certainly shows the mindset of Joe average citizen. He does have a good point about the red light deal, however.

What a ****, hope they find a Toyota rolled up under there.

  11. That is interesting that it didn't fold up nearly as bad as the crash test car, it actually looks like with another frame and front clip you could rebuild it.

It also didn't crash head-on into another car at a closing speed of 80 mph. Still, you can see that the left front wheel moved rearward into the driver foot well, as in the NHTSA video, very likely giving the driver foot/ankle/leg injuries as well as the upper body injuries.

Best Wishes for a full recovery, running a red light is not a good idea, full stop or do I need to say period here?

All trafffic accidents are sad, the thing I remember most about the instruction on a Motor bike course is simply " Look out for the other F****** Idiot he probably drives a Volvo (Bomb proof European car, purchased by safety concious cotton heads who think I'm safe so I'll pull out regardless), you'll get hurt!" The same applies driving older cars with inattentive / distracted drivers on the road.

i wouldnt be suprised if it wasnt the cop that ran the light, like the one that crashed into my house once and another that just missed both times supposedly chasing a bad guy right before shift change heading in the direction of the station. didnt the cop see the el camino coming and see he wasnt going to stop ........ it takes two to have this kind of accident and as is said in the story the cop turned into the path of the elcamino

I'm glad I'm not the only one who at least questions the -alleged- red light running.
I've had cops jump out in front of me several times and had to take evasive action - but you KNOW who would've been cited at fault if I'd tagged them. Some of them drive like idiots too.

Sorry to make this sound more important than the driver's injuries. It is not. But if it wasn't his fault, it's not fair to just take a word and run with it & add that to his list of problems. After all, he may not have been able to give his side of the story.

  26. Yeah, it's kind of a sad thing but I agree - when it comes to police and accidents they're almost never wrong, even when they're obviously wrong, even if they fall out of the sky on top of you it's still your fault for being there. If the guy got knocked out he may not remember the accident at all, which makes it easy for them to say he ran a red light. Hope he gets some good legal representation in addition to good medical care -

Man, I've seen that 'Camino around town before, but I can't think of the guys name. I hope he will be okay, but knowing Tempe, I'd be willing to bet on the two previous posts.
