hows gloss black sound?...

i gotta bolt down the steering column, put gas in the tank, water in the radiator and run a hotwire so i can take a 1st drive around the block! i'm thinkin black, just like henry intended.... any color suggestions? and yeah i know, the wheels gotta go but i can figure that out later.

 

I don't recall it ever making a sound...but I've heard red screams.

it came with patina, i thought i'd go against prevailing trends and actually put color on it... call me crazy. i just got a thing for black and since henry did 15 MILLION thataway, it oughta be good enough for me right?

 

If it were mine it would be shiny black but color don't matter. Good for you for putting something simple together and on the road without 69 wrenches and spider webs welded to it.

 

They used to say that there are only two colors for a hot rod, black or ugly.

So what do you think my vote is?

 

That many out of work, eh...??? Some I've seen on the comedy channel deserve to be out of work...I can't understand what's funny about a schtick full of swear words all the time.

I am ***uming you are thinking of painting your hotrod gloss black , right ? There is nothing wrong with gloss black but you want to remember....Gloss Black will show every imperfection in sheet metal ! It also shows ever damn speck of dirt too ! If that doesn't bother you and the car is super straight then shoot it gloss back . It will look very nice . Satin black is a good color . Not flat but not gloss either .
Just something to think about !

thanks man! its my 1st try so i'm sure it'll have a few bugs to work out but as long as she stops n steers safe, i can puzzle the rest out as i go... this message board saved my *** multiple time the last year or 2 so thanks everybody.
p.s. all in, this car has cost $3200! took some time but if i can do it, ANYBODY can do it..

heres a little better shot.. wonder if i could talk 1 of you photoshop guys into showin me a couple different colors or maybe even a set of steelies on it. i'm hatin the wheels but they were cheap.... as in $40 for all 4!

 

well, i got the ugly part covered..... why can't i have both?...

 

Anything but flat black and no more red wheels,its been overdone and most flat black paint jobs are just to hide imperfections.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again... everything should be gloss black.

 

Here's a few different colors.

 

**** man....KEEP the wheels and paint it metalflake gold with rootbeer brown lace, or pearl white with multicolored ribbonsand or bubbles....haha.
The world has enough BORING black hotrods....

I think Black would be the way to go. I am actually going to paint mine black this fall when I get the body straighter. Any graphics or trim pieces will really POP against it.
