I'm building a 51 Plymouth 2dr (see avatar), my 55 F100 will be Mopar powered (383). Have an O/T 72 Dodge Coronet wagon, and my daily driver is a 99 Dakota 5.9 R/T.

  4. nothing about that body is the same as a plymouth or dodge. i have owned both and they are not the same. your car is longer and wider.good luck and please keep us posted though.

Here is my humble contribution to a great old thread. Its a 56 DeSoto Fredome with a 330 Hemi. Going with a 60's custom look. Almost done with the bodywork and then the fun can begin:).

Luv that Dodge Business Coupe. Is there a swimming pool in that trunk, looks like plenty of room for one :)?

How about a 1941 Business Coupe? This is all original, tattered and all. The only thing that isn't original is the engine. It has a 218 from a 52 mopar in it. I am a FORD guy to the point the blood is blue but this Plymouth is cool and I plan to keep it. The engine is being rebuilt since it was seized. It will be left mostly stock. I may do dual carbs/exhaust and that is about it. Will go through and rebuild brakes, suspension, trans, rear diff and other items that will make it safe to drive. I even thought about putting a bench seat in it to take riders with. All surface rust with the exception of 3 spots where there are small holes. Easy fix. Might even paint it flat black. Don't know yet. This car is cool. Anyone have a dual intake manifold setup for really cheap? Just asking, this is a budget build.

I present my humble beater - the Plymouth from hell! I've watched the world pass by out its windshield for the last 17 years or so, most as my only transport. Been everywhere in it, and have the pictures to prove it. It's latest incarnation included an aluminum headed nasty 360 mated to a Tremac five speed, tube X- member and four wheel disc brakes. Front end has almost always been a MustangII on a subframe that was z'd a couple of extra inches, and what you see is ride height for most of all these years. I raised it about an inch all around about five years ago. I took a job with a big corporation about eleven years ago, and was handed the keys to my new company car... and I handed them right back! Took a stipend on the Plymouth and went everywhere! I just noticed the jack in this photo, this was a day when I was contemplating raising it up another inch - so it actually sits an inch lower than this in back!

What question did you ask? I don't see that car in it's basic form being O/T. If I can help, give me a yell... Chip

  30. Hi, MOPAR rodders!! Been working on my 1940 DeSoto more or less (mostly less i suppose:p)since 1978. Came to Norway around 1945-46. Have bought 3 more 40 DeSoto cps from the USA thru the years. Latest in 2008. The "old Norwegian" was first set op for a 53 241 RedRam Hemi, then a 360. But I think I end up with a hottet side valved "Spitfire" engine. Dual carbs, alu head etc. So, my last cpe, now powered by the 360, will end up with a newly purchased 341 DeSoto Hemi !! That one also have Mustang II front susp and airbags in the rear. Please visit my album for more info.
