Definitly the candy wheels, wide whites, and spinner caps, hell I don"t hate chrome wheels but everybody has them.the candy wheels make the truck stand out ,the pic with the chrome wheels looks unfinished.

    Ed,
Good call on the narrow white walls matching the 60's style of the truck. I guess WWW's look good on some cars, but there was a specific time period they were used. By the early 60's they were "yesterdays news.
    Kripfink (sorry bout that),
Any of the wheel combinations look good, but the 4 bars are the one's I like best. Yeah, I know they are not the ones you have on hand. Sorry. Chrome reversed wheels are a close second.

I think it looks best with what you have on it now.

I think I like it as you have it now. Around 57, everybody was switching to the newer narrow whites and this with the full caps is how it would have been in my area.
Great looking truck and I really like the scallops on those F100's.

  8. Paul,

I like the first look, not a big fan of chrome steelies, look a little too "jacked up Mk II Cortina " to me (with apologies to our non UK folks who won't have a clue what that means)

I would run the New Yorker caps if the wheels are scratched up too much. Maybe chrome trim rings?

I dig the read wheels and the "Spinner Moons"..maybe a bit thinner WW..I think that goes with the build and style. JMO..

and that ****er looks kick *** bud, any way you go it will look killer, Paul.
But if it were me..or mine (and i so wish it were) i would go back to the painted wheels, and those kool spinner set ups on the Moon caps..i think you had it nailed right in the first place..;)

Ed,Riksters' photoshop is done with her old tires, she's currently sporting 1" and a half whites (see second photo, original post) and that's just about the best compliment anyone could ever pay the Kart.

At the moment I'm torn between leaving it alone and Rikster's picture 3 with the reverse smoothies and the tri-bar flippers.

If these are the only choices, I say leave it as-is with the full hubcaps.

After seeing pictures of your truck, I like the full wheel covers. Breaks up all that red and gives weight to the bottom. However, I have to admit, I hate red so my opinion is bias.

I think you nailed it Doug! I had a little chat with wifey and she agrees that maybe if I'm a real good boy Santa will spring for a set of wide whites and shove 'em down the chimney for me at Christmas. I'll then put them on the painted wheels and wear the Chrysler caps and put my current inch & a half whites on the chrome reverse smoothies and wear these with the adapted moon caps when the mood takes me.
As far as taking advantage of beautiful women goes, chance would be a fine thing.
Thanks for your help everyone, and the kind words about the Kripple Kart.
    Paul.

I don't see a bad choice at all!
I like the idea of 2 sets of rubber & wheel choice & change it up every so often.
Your "Kart" is looking great Paul!

That sounds like the best plan to me Paul as I like the chrome smoothy with thinner whites walls idea. You can keep the painted wheels for a winter set then.

    Cheers

  17. To be honest, I'm honored you asked my opinion, what do I know. I'm a ****in hack. But to be honest again, the look I like least is the red wheels with the baby moons. Juat a bit too much red. I do love that panel, and I'm a huge chrome reverse fan. I am about to post pics of the Riviera's new shoes; feel free to bash...

I likey the baby moons and the spinners. A thought to break up the chome you could run a double pin stripe in body colour round the edge of the rim:cool:

  19. moon with spinners...if you go the other way sell me the moons with spiners because I think they are way cool....Just kidding ....Moon caps with spinners....

Moons in the first pic. Super panel wagon.

  21. Now I took a look at this and thought, 'wow hard choice'.
I sat here for a minute or two pondering what looked better, then I thought I would read everyone elses opinions.
Then I came across Riksters post, all I can say is............ YOU *******!
    Talk about complicating the issue!!!

    Though, honestly?
Just the way it is looks very right, but if you have to change something?
I really, and I mean REALLY dig the red wheels with baby moons and spinners.

    Thats just my opinion.

    Doc.

I would say for that "peroid" look that you are talking about, I'd go for the New Yorkers...It looks more correct and not forced. I think the moons, bullets and blades look cobbled together......

Check out what my friend Tobin did here. I think this looks killer, and the paint-detail on just the cap really nails the '60's look. It references the body color just enough, but not too obviously like a fully painted wheel.

As above, especially considering that the candy is badly scratched. Although you could run the Baby Moon combo with Trim Rings.

  28. Moons but not by much :)

  29. Be different two on a side .. Ya can't see both at the same time

i like the chromies plain but you have smoothie ones they look odd with out caps
okay okay plain gloss black /white wheels with spiders hub rings and trim rings ..
Your at too many scalloped flowing angles with the paint(in a good way)

with simple chrome circles w/o spinners or points is a gooder rounder way to go..
