I know that it's not HAMB friendly, but it's refreshing to hear some good news for a change.

A 1968 Camaro stolen June 29th has been recovered, and the thieves, who apparently were part of an interstate car theft ring, have been arrested. Seven other stolen cars were recovered, but it was not reported what they were. Just a bit of good news for a change.

Tobacco fields are getting few and far between. We have plenty of cotton, corn and soybean fields though.:D

Reportedly they recovered over $175,000 worth of vehicles and other property.

those ***' must have been old enough for the police to do something about it! friend of mine had his olds stolen right out from his own garage! It had more power than their moms honda-they could'nt handle that much power, so of course they wrecked it! When the police got them, they said "we've arrested these punks 15-20 times each before, but they are under 18, so they'll be back out by the end of the weekend!" ****heads!

Not a big Camaro fan, but it's still cool the car was recovered, and not stripped for parts and chopped up into s****. Happy endings with cl***ic car theft are rare, indeed, it's just a shame this **** even happens in the first place.

So what if the car is off topic, I think it is great that the robbers of an american cl***ic got caught. It makes me happy to know that there were several other stolen cars in their ownership because that means a longer jail sentence. I think that karma make sure that everything is balanced. Now, if some one will tell me where they are holding them I will go get my baseball bat and a ski mask and....:D

That is some really GREAT news no matter what year car it is ! :D

Glad to hear that got the lowlife's that ripped you off . Also glad to here there will be some other people very happy to get their cars back too . I just hope the worthless courts do the right thing and lock them up for a very long time or just cut their hands off so they can't do it again !

The 3 "suspects" are all Marines, so yeah, they can be prosecuted. Interesting to see if JAG will chime in because I believe some of the stuff was stolen off of base. I think it will be interesting to see how far this trickles down, seeing as it's part of a much larger ring. "Suspects" do love to make those deals when their ****s are on the line.

And to clarify...this is NOT my car. Just one that was stolen locally.

    Well ,, its about time.
and im glad they were able to catch the theif (s)..now if they could only hang um at High noon ...like the "good old days"..now that would be justice served.

bet a dollar to a dognut, when they get back out (and that will be way too soon) they will probably fall right back in line doing the same ****. or something like it.

I bet if we caned those ****ers they wouldn't be out on the street doing it again. Sadly, criminals have all the rights and they'll be back to work stealing our stuff in no time.

  18. Good news, and I hope they get a full dance card in prison, but I dunno, if my car ever gets stolen and trashed, I think I'd rather have the insurance pay off than get it back. Lord only knows what it might have been used for or how it was treated while on the run.

WTF are Marines doing stealing cars? This is a real **** sandwich.

And for those who expect leniency for the thieves, a military court would not look with kindness on these charges.

Exactly my thought. Kind of makes you wonder what else even far worse they have been up to. Kind of surprising we are even hearing about this. If anyone should, the Marines should take these a-hats out back and make a prime example out of how American Service personal are suppose to act and represent this country. But, as usual, I am doubting that is going to happen either. At best they'll quietly get dishonorably discharged and be back to stealing cars and causing even more trouble outside of the service by the end of the year.

Oh yeah, I hope they go to a military prison rather than a civilian one.

My buddy went to Universal Studios. When he came out, he saw some s***bag trying to remove the wheels on his car. He started running at full speed and kicked him so hard in the ****, the s***bag got his head caught between the tire and fender. He wailed on him some more, than called the cops. The way the laws are, sometimes its the only payback you get. :D

I would hope that the military court will really handle the s***, but I have a feeling that it will wind up in fed court with most pleaing out for testifying on a few. Even worse, they may get a slap and probation to avoid ruining their military career.

A friend was attacked by navy sailors and the sentenance was pitiful, so that the sailors would not face more charges form the Navy.

  25. The man wants to know if there are any tobacco fields that they can have these men remove the flowers from. That will teach these people to steal from a resident of North Carolina.

I picked tobacco its hot and hard work...

They stole both off base and and on base (Camp Lejeune). They could be prosecuted by both civilian and military authorities since they are separate crimes. The military courts will not hesitate to lock these guys up for a long time. Here's one story from WRAL.com.

Three Camp Lejeune Marines have been charged in connection with an interstate car theft ring, Onslow County authorities said Friday.
Aaron Jacob Lee, 19, Joshua Anthony Mathis, 21, and Deangelo Lebron Gearing, 20, face a total of 45 burglary- and theft-related charges.
A K-9 tracked the suspects in a vehicle break-in early Thursday for more than 2 miles before an Onslow County deputy was able to arrest the Marines.
Arkansas State Police recovered a rollback car carrier and a car that had been stolen from Jacksonville. Other vehicles that have been recovered were stolen in Onslow and Pitt counties and on Camp Lejeune, authorities said.
Authorities have also recovered stolen guns and computers, and they said all of the property was traced back to home and vehicle break-ins in the area.

Here's a link to the local papers story, but that pretty much covers it.

The few, the proud, the..............car thieves????? Hard to believe Marines could be involved in something like this. Glad they were caught. It's good to hear the rest of the story had a good ending for the car owner(s) for a change. Man, there sure seems to be a rash of car thefts lately.
