Don't listen to these guys because we all started with nothing and ended up with something. At least it doesn't have a bowtie. It is a '61 and dual master cyl's didn't come out till '62. I believe this car has a ohv 195.6 . It appears to have rust issues so check it out better before spending a lot of $$$ on it because you can buy these cars with no rust for resonable prices. Ramblers are good cars and have a following.

It looks like a telefunken u-47 with fuel injection.

    OR

    a 1961 rambler cl***ic.
The front seats fold down flush with the back seat.
I had one in the Early seventies, what a great date car.

As was already stated, it's HAMB friendly, I guess you have to grow up around them to understand. Our POS Fords and Chevy's would be broke down and the guy in the Rambler would be cruisin. LOL. Lippy:D

If it's true that the front seat folds down into a bed, then the ugly little Rambler just redeemed himself :D

Now where is the nearest drive in movie playing dusk to dawn features ? ;)

  17. You yanks piss me off at times with your holly then at***ude about your american made cars. Hell in a country where american cars are a rare find, that Rambler would be somebodies pride and joy and if I had the spare funds I would say,put it in a container and send it down under I will make something of it that people would be proud to own. Oh yeah thats right it is not one of those over priced '32 Fords with a smallblock Chev in it.

Whiplash WTH? We just grew up with these cars when more desirable stuff was plentiful, that's all. Surely you grew up with cars you didn't care for. How come your not saving cars from your childhood that aren't so desirable to you? BTW, how old are you? :) I bet I'm in for a tongue lashing. Sorry, we just look at a ugly car as an ugly car. It's a good old car, but for what it costs to do a car nowadays, might as well get something cool. Sorry Rambler guys. Lippy

Oh well, ugly or not , it's complete , and the roughest part of the car is the p***. side rear door , no rust in the floors , rockers , nuthin , and for the measley price of $500.00 , it can belong to any of the lovers or haters here , you love it , fix it , you hate it , crush it make you money back plus alittle for that price...lol

Don't everyone be hatin on the Rambler. I like them myself and have had a few AMC and Rambler cars since getting my license 10 years ago. Some of them looked pretty ugly but even ugly cars need love :) My favourite Ramblers are the Americans. Like Chrysler AMC was a little out there on most of their styling until the mid 60s. I'd get it driving and have some fun with it if it was mine.

Ugly as sin! I do however, like pro1streets rendition!
I had an even uglier '64 version of that same Rambler when I was 15. My first car, 4 doors, no waiting!
After driving it for a week I decided to go off roading with friends. Sliding sideways through a wicked 90* turn, at it's top speed of 50mph, the wheels grabbed and I high-sided, promptly putting it on it's top!
I was the talk of my high school for the next 2 weeks!
I'm lucky to be alive. In 1970 seatbelts were considered a nusiance!

I like it, I'd drive that every day. I don't get what's so ugly about it. It's kinda plain for an early 60's car, but not ugly. The photoshopped green one looks pretty nice. Would look nicer as a 2 door sedan with extended front doors.

  28. Well Lippy I'm on the wrong side of fifty sadly and where I come from we used to import most of our cars from Canada and England in the early years. As the Aussie car manufactoring grew we started importing their GM Holdens and Fords which still are top sellers to this day until the **** decided that if they couldn't win the war, they would flood our market with tin can rusty ****ty so called cars. What is more alarming now is our Government have climbed into bed with the Chinese and are allowing there manufactured ****ters into the country and we all know what sort of **** they produce. So again,I will have the 1961 Rambler anyday thanks.

  29. Just what 'looks' Czech about this Rambler? ( imo '61 Tatra > '61 Rambler)

    The thing IS a U.S.A p.o.s.

Are you sure? It looks plenty ripe to me. I'd say it's ready for pickin'!

A little spiffing up, maybe a set of wheels, and this thing would draw plenty of attention.:D
