Projects The Chris Casny Shoebox Chop and build progress, my first Custom project.

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Chris Casny, Aug 1, 2010.

  1. I picked up a 50 Ford shoebox three month ago, running and driving with Flathead, manual transmission, 6 Volt system, basically stock.
I drove it around town, promising myself to leave it alone, not to get crazy with it and have fun, for awhile.

Well, the trunk floor was very rusty, and with the rear seat out, full gas tank, driving on the freeway going 70mph, there was alot of noise coming from the rear, looking behind me I noticed the gas tank, including the floor where bouncing up and down and I expected the whole floor to drop out, any second.
I made it back to my place, removed the tank, then the floor was cut out, to get to the bottom of this

One thing lead to another and the evil customizer in me came out, and I "had" to chop it..... mind you this all started one week ago.

Here are some progress pictures of my first shoebox chop.

    Looks very good Chris...

I assume you are planning slanted B-Pillars judging the way you cut them. The curve on the rear side window/C-Pillar is very nice.

Now THAT is the way to chop a Shoebox, very cool Chris, I can't wait for part II.
You are gonna have a killer kustom there, excellent eye.

  26. My floors are rusted so lets chop the shit outta this shoebox! Love it. Nice method Chris. Looks better than some peoples 5th chop! I like your bracing and sail panels.
