i have a heavy duty clutch fork part number 14066235..gonna use it in a 57 chevy specific bellhousing gonna modify the bell and fork.my question is how much travel is needed?? running a hydralic clutch so running a slave cylinder.how much travel does it need to move the throw out bearing??
today modified the the clutch fork now i got a lot of movement.with the fork arm forward toward the front of the motor to all the way back toward the trans is about 2 1/2 inches is this enough?/?
Sounds good. but you really need to fit up the flywheel clutch t/o bearing etc. so you can see if not only the lenght is OK. whichit is you need about 1 inch to 1 1/4 on the outside end of the arm. But you also need to see that the relationships are right for it to work without anything interfearing. and give you the 1 to 1 1/4 movement. BTW the T/O bearing only has to move 3/16 to 1/4 inch once it hits the PP.
thanks for the reply has been awhile since i messed with this combo/style.. also when i make my bracket for the slave cylinder do i set it up to where the cylinder rod is pushed in half ways with the fork end or all the way in ??
The last one I did, was a pull type cylinder, So I set it up for the clutch to be in engaged position with the cylinder all the way out. So it pulls in 1 1/4 inches and the clutch releases. A push cylinder would be set with the clutch engaged and the cylinder all the way in. Than 1 1/4 inches later the clutch is released.
also what about throw out bearings i here there are 3 sizes.i will be running a diaphragm clutch wich one will i need????
Bent finger diaphragm old BCA # was CC1705C ,flat diaph. old BCA #1697C .First # is short 2nd the long one.
