    You did a fine job. ;) It's alot of work, isn't it.:D
I would have liked to have seen more photos of Rick's shop AND the other projects in the Field of Dreams but that's just me. :p I would post a few of my photos of these on here but they are hard copies, before I got a digital camera. Thanks for sharing your trip with us. Very much appreciated.

Randy, Man you and your wife have been on some road trips this summer. Great looking truck. Hope to see ya in a few weeks at shades. The truck will be done by then, right.... Hey, its over a month away.

  6. I have crossed at the border crossing a long time ago, hasn't changed much. There isn't a lot out there ,so thats the reason for the small building..
Good find and an even better vacation.

    Good luck with the project.

    Rick

  7. Randy the Road Dog! That's some serious mileage, sounds like you had a good time. Lookin' forward to seeing what you do with the truck. 'You going to be at Pigeon Forge this year?

That sounds like a great road trip. A lot better than one of those straight there and straight back trips that a lot of guys end up having to do.

It's going to be fun watching the build thread on that truck.

Great pic, especially of Mt. Rushmore. Tell folks it's a German truck, and that it's pronounced YUNKERS.

  12. So Deuce,,whats the plan of attack?

You have had several months to think about it,,,Is it going to get that other engine that was in the roadster that has been over in the corner?

What about paint and body?,,wheel color?

Is it gonna be shiny black with red wheels?

Inquiring minds what to know.:D HRP

  13. You crazy kids!!!

Seems like I had a Mercury tailgate in my garage at one time.............

NO slick paint and most likely off - white steelies with Merc hub caps and rings.

I really like the looks and style of this old beater.
My Mercury is a litle better shape than this F-1 but not a bunch.

I like the stance of Poeet's truck and would like for my Mercury to end up looking about half way from the Pottet truck down to the first truck posted.

I guess I'll have to get the '48 F1 out where I can start butchering it...er restoring it.......yea, that's it , restoring it.:D Now that Randy has got a realistic plan I think i'll just follow along and do mine the same. Can't wait to see where he takes it. BEATER?.........I've got to see that one come true.

That's a cool score, and I agree with your description of Rick. He's a great guy!
I'm just a little po'd that you'd come all the way up here and not let me know!! I'm only an hour north of Baldur and would have driven down to meet you and your wife. :(

Great score and excellent rear-end choice. What rear spring and hangers do you plan on using?

    I had considered it :)
But it was almost 2 o'clock when I got to Ricks.
3:15 after we got it all loaded up.

The guard said he got off @ 4 o'clock ... and he was a 32 Ford 5W owner.
I figured that he might be a little easier to deal with than another border guard.

The crossing border closed @ 8 PM.
If I had trouble @ the crossing and got turned around ...
That would mean I had to stay in/or around Baldur and there is NO motel :( ... within 30/40 miles.

    Ah, ok. You're forgiven. :p
Too bad you didn't have enough time to stay up here for a day or two, lots of cool stuff to see.

  25. Great truck Randy! I can't wait to see what you do with it.

My '32 Fordor came from Rick @ LoBoys. He was super to work with and the car was EXACTLY as described. I had talked to Hotrodladycrusr before the purchase & she had confirmed that I had no worries dealing with him.

Now, when should we expect update pics?!?!?!?!?

Nice find! That Alan Jackson Find Me a Mercury tune has been in my head ever since I saw the first photo. Thanks for the photos, good to see Rushmore again, real nice country out there.

I thought you might be interested in an update on my p.u. on the trailer. I work on it in between other projects as time allows. This is what it looks like now, but it's back in the corner again.

    It's a 48 Merc,when i chopped it 2 1/2 inches i used a full size 51 rear window which i prefer over the gun slot of a chopped 48 style.
This truck also came from the Canadian prairies in Saskatchawan, next to Manitoba.
46 Ford car park lights will work on your truck. The cars bezel just have a couple more embossed lines on them that are missing on the truck bezel. But the lenses i believe are the same.
The Merc tailgate is the same as the Ford. The Merc as you may know by now just has a stamped plate that is spot welded into the center of the Ford gate. You could remove the plate and put it into a better Ford gate if you wanted to.
Good luck with your truck, Brian
