Bob Harrop drove TMP at match race with Ronnie Sox at South Glens Falls Dragway,NY. in 1966.Last year of Ronnie running nitro funny car.
Is the owner from Canada? Awhile back I sent pix and copy of a track flyer for a Ronnie Sox match race at South Glens Falls Dragway. Wondered how progress was doing.Looks good.
Can you believe that Bud Faubel actually drove this car home from the shop in Michigan to his Pennsylvania home at the time of these photos?! Unbelievable! How about cruising down the highway in your new GTO thinking that you're just 'all that' and maybe even lookin' for a little action when this particular, goofy-lookin' white 1965 Dodge with an older gentleman driving it with its' column-shifted Torqueflite pulls up alongside you?
Yep, you're right.......I think the car did have open headers during that drive home. Man.....I tell 'ya, I like 'em a little on the loud side myself but that had to be a very LONG drive home that day! I bet Bud's ears rang for days after that trip.
He told me they sure looked at him funny when he pulled up to the toll booth on the PA Turnpike....lol
[/IMG] We'll have the 5 samples of 1:18 AWB Plymouths at CHRYSLERS at CARLISLE this weekend. Stop by to look and say hi - swap space I-62 on Friday & Saturday (6/9-10/2010).
If you guys need a filling of altereds on the street, check out Dave Henry's website devoted to his build-up of their '65 altered Nova. Theres quite alot of stuff going on it. Cool ,fun video of him teaching his wife to drive the altered in a parking lot. Good overview video of the car as well, and what it takes to "throw" one together! http://www.alteredwheelbasenova.com/
have received the "final samples" and cars are produced. On a ship now so hope to have the 1:18 AWB's here by the end of the month (Aug). Added the headlamp covers on the Melrose Missile per Celcil Yother's okay. He loved it when he saw it!
As much as I love AWB's, I can't be the only one that thinks Shirl Greer's "TENSION" is perhaps the ugliest Matchbash car ever constructed.........but it did have a great name!
heres a couple of pics of my 19 year sons 61 belair bubbletop he's had it a few years now, it was out of the chicago area in the 60s. he's got a 409 2x4 for it ,some day soon it [next year] it will be on the track thanks marty
Man......that AWB, stretched nose '61 BelAir is really pushin' my buttons! I wanna see that thing finished and rolling......get it done!
The altered wheelbase '65 Plymouths have been made now (1:18 scale) and we should have some next week at the Mopar Nationals - Row K in swap meet, 4 white EZUP tents in a square. Come see um'.
YOU are the man Jim ! I've got some of your cars and they are all great! My buddy John Simon says "Hi" !
Thanks for the support, and say HI to John for me! All I can say right now is great minds think alike... Here's another pic... and one more.... I'm sorry I'm sorry... it's just that I haven't been this excited about a 1:18 car in some time now. I feel these ARE darn neat, and coming in here later this month...
