The making of a cylinder head

I 'm making a cylinder head for my hill climb car. This is the start, so far mounting holes and push rod holes. If there is any interest will post pictures as we move along with the head.

Because I have always wanted to. Plus most of the heads for Model A engines are copies of old designs. I hope my head breathes much better. We will find out.

Well we will do it, seems like a lot of people would like to see how. You have to start with two pieces, because you have to mill the water jacket, it will not be easy, but will be fun. I,M not going to be selling heads, this is just for me, but you could make one for your self.

 

This is the part of backyard HotRodding that has fallen to the wayside........The I want to buy everything and bolt it on mentality is not HotRodding.......That's my opinion.......so build your heads.....super neat project.....Littleman

The more you can do on your OWN, the more it is "your" hotrod in the end because that's what hotrodding is all about imho. Even if it's a failed project, you got off your ass and kick started your mind with new ideas and concepts...

Nothing wrong with making something from scratch. That is what brought me to this hobby in the first place building and fabricating stuff. Just because you cant do it doesn't mean it cant be done.
