I have 3 vintage Tachometers that I would like to identify, did I come to the right place? AT-500 I also have a Sun EB-9A July/68 Transmitter with original box, instructions and warranty cards
Middle Tach is a Sun RC 85, not sure about the other two. If you want to sell the EB 9A, Send me A PM
"I also have a Sun EB-9A July/68 Transmitter with original box, instructions and warranty cards" That transmitter likely is not working, since they used mercury cell batteries, and don't work correctly with modern batteries. I just had a transmitter rebuilt by "tachman". The camera industry has "mercury cell-replacement batteries (that are supposed to emulate the clock cycle)", but from my research, they don't produce accurate readings when used in the box. Best bet is to spend the bucks to have the box upgraded to modern internals.
The first one is an American Motors like out of an AMX or a Javelin say somewhere around '68-'72. Note the 5K redline, they were low spinning Big Blocks. I don't recognize the last one but it should have some info on the back if you pull it out of the cup. Its a side winder although they used them before they became popular in the later '60s as well.
Thanks guys for your help, thank you for confirming the AMX... my uncle had a AMX SS that this tach most likely have came out of.
