And heres where I am at as of today, before and afters of the completed upper trunk opening . My welder is making a funny noise hopefully it will hold out till I can afford to get it looked at and fixed...A friend is having a car show at his shop in a couple of weeks and he wants me to bring the unfinished car over so I am trying to get it presentable , with a coat of epoxy urethane over the first round of mud work so hopefully I will have a few updates over the next 2 weeks ( as long as the welder dont die!)

pass side before, no special yool used , just a chunk of the sedan lip, reshaped and other pieces welded together

Great trip, other than the many construction stops. Haven't unloaded anything yet but looked at the T hinges I had left in molasses for de-rusting. Lookin good. Maybe I'll post a pic in my album later.
I keep thinkin' about putting that rear suspension I got this week into the T... but sanity shows up long enough and reminds me to keep this one simple.
    Good luck with that welder.

Nice job on the upper truck area & the rounded corners. Very tasty. I think your round corners is very tastefull & flows with the rest of what you have going on.

I haven't had the time to check your thread lately. Man, what an improvement with those windows! You nailed it! Love the rounded door and trunk corners too. You are systematiclly fixing all the stuff that has driven me nuts about these cars as customs forever. Looks oh so good...

Been on the fence about turning mine into a taildragger. The more I see yours, the more I want to start cutting. What an awesome job, do you ever stop moving?

Thanks man! The whole thread should keep you busy for at least an hour:p

  19. Outstanding post and build. Need louvers told me about this and said I had some competion building something from nothing. I would say its more company than competion. You are like me in that I do not have alot of money but alot of time and drive for something that we want. Keep the build thread going and really nice work so far. You can see my build at the link below.

I have also found the 37 wreck below , which I have to try and pick up in the next month or so....the plan is to use the 37 ass end to make my own bastardized 3 window :D

I'm already excited about the new project. I should drag a California car back there and see what you do with it.

That one wont happen till I scrounge up enough junk to make it worth starting on ... still need a frame , the hacked up one under it is a 46-48 frame, might just build my own though ...need 4 fenders , dont have to be 35-36 Ford :D and I would like to find a better set of doors so I can cut these ones up to make the curved B pillar area on a 3 window doors. Once I get enough junk scrounged up to make it worthwhile I am gonna lock myself in the shop for a winter with about 30lbs of mig wire and see what I can tack together ...then I will build the chassis , I am really looking forward to starting it , Westergard style taildraggers are by far my favourite era of customs....

30 lbs? I know you well enough to say that 30 isn't enough! Between the "adjusting" of the designs and radical mods.... ;)

Hope to see it at Chad's next weekend.

What product did you use for the rust.. a phosphoric acid of some kind I thought but which one?
