Found this on another thread...would love to have more info.

Looks like a 22-25 T Roadster, looks like it uses a T front axle & 26-27 T wheels, maybe a T frame & running gear?. Any info would be appreciated!

Do a search on Multy Aldrich. Much has been written.

Multi Aldrich's car from the mid thirties, but I believe the picture is late forties at El Mirage. If I remember correctly the car was pulled back out and run and played with after the war quite extensively. I know that it still exists and was found intact a few years back. I also know that someone here on the HAMB has Multis club plaque and could probably fill you in a bit more about this car. Your ***umption is right on the frame and running gear, but the wheels I'm sure were Buffalo.

This car showed up at a swap meet in Bakersfield, Ca. about 3 years ago and was quickly bought for a really good deal by a gentleman back east.
The orig. motor was long gone, but the car was still bad *** !

This picture was taken I believe at the first official running on the salt in 1949 at which "Multi's" car was only one of two entrants in his cl***. I think it did 85 or 90 mph, don't remember for sure.

The car does fortunately survive today. It was purchased at Bakersfield by Don Lang of Lang's Old Car Parts (Model T spe******ts) as a potential restoration project...until they found out what it was. They are now restoring the car to it's 1930's configuration as built by Multi Aldrich.

Either way, it had to be a white-knuckle ride.

    Love the Multi car.

Found one more with different wheels. Can anyone verify that the first 2 pics I posted were of Multi? Not real sure.

Thanks, Brent. I was not too sure about those. Now I know.

Looks like B-ville to me. El Mirage doesnt stick to the tires like that plus the mountians are closer :)

This car has made a resurgence, of late, with its inspirations of a few new builds.

  18. Ha! I only knew that because I happened to be looking at it in one of my books in the "oval office" just last week.

While we are the subject of cool Gow Jobs does anyone know more about this one. "Scotty" is the name on the pic that I found here the other day.

No way to know for sure. Could be Charles "Scotty" Scott. He owned a wrecking yard in San Bernardino before getting into the muffler/speed shop biz. My dad was in the Redlands "Hornets" SCTA club before WWII with Scotty, Multy, John Vesco and many others that I have forgotten. The Hornets was a hokey name but they got it because the guy who sponsored their club, manufactured an aftermarket muffler called the hornet muffler.

I last saw Multy and the roadster in about '85. He was working at Buells Auto Electric near the corner of 6th and E st in Berdoo. Multy had just acquired a D.O. Frotenac head from an estate sale and said he had to buy the entire contents of a garage to get it.

You are NOT kidding :D....but I would love to do it!

Both Multi's T and the Robert Hodge T were the 2 main inspirations for my own T roadster.

Mr Model "T" and fivohnick2932 Thank you for the correction yes it was the first Bonneville meet. My brain was saying no as my hands typed it, and when I looked after I posted I knew! Now, not to hijack this thread, Erik B has posted a picture of my absolute favorite "T" ever... bar none, and I had always wondered if that was Gabby Garrison's car. The picture for those that don't know is one that Peterson has run about 300 times since '48, and it shows broken Drum auto salvage, where Lee Chapel started one of the first, if not the first, speed shop as we know it. I haven't reread the story in awhile, but I believe it was on Sepulveda in Burbank area. Is it Gabby's, who's is it and what's the story? By the way, I have almost a whole '25 roadster dissembled and hanging like a pelt on my fence to replicate this car...

Are my eyes getting so old that I don't clearly see that the license plates are from 1952?

Thanks, Man! Although my car is vastly different, this car serves as my major influence.

I am a big fan of Brent's build as well...nice to see these ol' 20's "gow jobs" making a come back. I thought I was the only one building in this period.

Garrison's T is also one of my inspirations for my T. The Hodge / Peterson T has got to be my favorite.

yeah, certainly 'plates. The car did appear on the salt from '49 through the mid 50's at least...so this could have been taken at any of those meets.

It was however one of 2 entries in that cl*** at the first Bonneville meet in 1949.
