I drove the thing for less than a minute around my shop, and it was plenty puckered then!

Here are some pics Mitchell de Moor took during a photo/video shoot for the upcoming Hotrod havoc 4 video. Unfortunately, while we were filming action footage, the transmission felt the need to quit, and smell like a big hulk of burnt bacon. Oh well.....beefier tranny coming soon.

    Thanks Mitchell, rad pics.

twelve inches of set back and no traction...
thats one hell of a motor.

  11. That pretty much kicks ass, Scott. But I hear of a Hemi Corvair in the works...

    Just wondering...do you have enough
sustained running time on it yet to tell
how well the rear mounted rad set-up
    is working yet?

Now that is just TOO strange hahaha.

Yes, it is not the best, but after I burp it properly it should be fine. It works well for the car's intended use. it's not like I'm taking it to cruise night or anything.

That thing screams. Nailhead's aren't great revving engines, but it sounds like yours is up there!

Not alot of travel out back, but it does have suspension haha. No tire rubbing issues.

Just wondering...do you have any plans for maybe
either a 'silver-gray colored' painted fiberglass front
bumper - or some sort of rolled pan and/or a
big flat, sheet aluminum air dam, below the grill?
'Back in day' - circa mid-60's, gassers were starting
to go fast enough that the builders (and particularly
drivers! ) were starting to pay more attention to
aerodynamics and those things were becoming more
or less "de rigueur" in the gas and altered classes.
Also, another possible suggestion - I know you want
to keep the car hoodless, and it looks great that way
too, - but what about maybe cutting the front 12 or 18 i
inches or so off of either a stock or fiberglass and using
that to fill in the area from the top of the grill to top
front section of the fenders back to near where the stock
rad support used to be? . I think that would look really
slick - while still retaining the completely open and
exposed 'hoodless' engine compartment and probably
also improve the "aerodynamics' (such as they are on
a typical 'sky high', 'box bodied' gasser! LOL) a fair
    bit too.

The car will stay bumperless in front, and have a fiberglass one in the rear. I love the bare bones look the front has. As for aerodynamics....you can't polish a turd.

The part-hood is a possibility, although I have been toying with the idea of making a pin-on hood out of red polycarbonate heat molded over the original hood. Now that would look 60's!
