I am not sure if this fits here, I hate it when someone is selling parts or a car without a photo. To me it seems hard to sell something on the Internet or other 2 dimensional media source without visual representation.

  4. I wasn't bothered or agitated in the least by what you wrote. This thread is merely about those little pet peeves we all have and nurture. It's been fun reading your posts, as well as all the others.

I have the original hatchet George Washington chopped down the cherry tree with.
I've only replaced the head and handle.

Also means there's at least a half inch of carbon on the pistons......

  7. Was running when parked. Ready to restore. Car is completely stock and original except for drivetrain and body. New interior. I had a car exactly like that, but mine was red and it was a half ton. 1933 model A, quite rare. Car ran good a few years ago. Car for sale, not sure of make or exact year.

I believe the definition of RPM is Revolutions Per Minute.

"HATERS" and "DON'T HATE ON ME"..WTF..I want to piss on you when I read this..

  11. "Multiple trophy winner" "Monte Carlo 2 door" "Easy restore" . And the worst one is , of course, "would make good rat rod". 10 years ago, a wasted, rusted, piece of shit, "Interior by bobcat", "Quarters by Thud", was just a piece of crap.

    "For Sell"
    "Must Sale"
I've noticed those being used in quite a few ads.(even in the HAMB Classifieds:eek:)

Postings on CL with a one line description of the actual car and a freakin' 40 line list of keywords that have absolutely nothing to do with what's listed....

Gushy, over-lengthy descriptions containing mostly superfluous fluff and very little real information about the car. Most commonly found in ads on fleabay motors and occationally Hemmings Motor News for restored cars. Apparently the writer is of the "baffle 'em with bullshit" school.

As Sgt. Joe Friday often said, "Just the facts, Ma'm".

Also, repeated references to the car in question as "she" as in "she's dressed in well-patina'd paintwork accented with pristine 'jewelry' and she has a gently used interior". What's he trying to sell, a car or his wife?

  17. I like the "Parade car" description. That's fine if your'e going in the "started once a year, more bog than steel, no bushes left in the frontend,mouse-eaten interior looks good from 100 feet piece of crap" parade.

I'm a little dissapointed in you cats...took three posts to finally catch my misspelling...(which I did on purpose cause I tend to slaughter the language especially around my mom to get her spun up)

And no she's not Chinese :)

describing a VW or Corvair engine 'opposed' instead of 'flat' engine design. Real opposed piston engines, with 2 crankshafts have pistons that oppose each other, i.e. Fairbanks Morse, diesels.

YES ! BUMBERS drives me nuts , forgot that one .

When did repro or repop (short for reproduction) become repo ? I thought repo was when you miss payments and they take it back .

I have a buddy that's a good mechanic and been around cars his whole life , that always says EIDLEBROCK (IDLE-BROCK) no matter how many times he's been corrected .

This make offer thing gets me also , put a price on the damn sign , you know roughly what you want for it .

This is a silly thread , but entertaining for a bit and maybe some of the offenders will think twice next time they have some repo bumbers for sell .

  27. Silverado for any Chevy pickup before whatever year they really named it that.
I tell that person that it had nice seats when it was built. What kind of truck is it? 1/2 ton, 3/4, 2wd, 4wd, etc?
I have a car needing work on the brakes. How much will it cost to fix them?
I need springs for the front of my Kenworth. How much do they cost? More than one variable to that answer depending on exactly which model and how it was spec'd by who ordered it, and how it is currently being used, dump truck vs dragging a trailer.
Restored. Ratrod. 400 small block. Old school. The one owner may have abused and neglected it for those 145,000 original miles, not abused during the ones not shown when the odometer was turned back.

The same as these Polo Mints, usually full of holes! Might be an accurate description in some cases, I've seen a few minters in my time.
