I am glad that pebble beach decided to honor the pioneers of our great hobby/life. The first time they allowed the customs was just a monumental I think.

@sodbuster - In my book, they were all winners ... but the Cl*** U judges (Ken Gross, Don @Rockerhead Montgomery, & David Grant) saw it this way:

• 1st in Cl***: 1950 Eddie Miller Streamliner ... owned by Don Ferguson
• 2nd in Cl***: 1952 Chet Herbert "Beast III" Streamliner ... owned by Dr. Mark (@mrbhotrod) Brinker
• 3rd in Cl***: 1929 Williams Brothers Ford Roadster ... owned by Tom McIntyre
• The Dean Batchelor Trophy: 1952 So-Cal Speed Shop Streamliner ... owned by @Deuce Bruce Meyer

 

Not that I seen them in person at that particular show but I am surprised Carillo's Roadster didn't get on top 3.

Thanks for taking and posting such a great batch of photos Todd. While Frank and I didn't go out there thinking the Carrillo roadster would win the cl***, I for one was a bit confused with the judges decision on 2nd and 3rd.

Great pictures of some very important early rides...

 

Those are all really great cars and I am glad they are seing the light of day again. But please put them back onto the salt or a dragstrip for viewing or heavan forbid running. It was Speedweek and those poor things were stuck with the wine and cheese set in the fog sitting on the gr*** where little white balls get beat to death. Travesty!


Your photos were really good and I am glad you shared them. The afformentioned thoughts are not in anyway a negative on your abilities, merely an outcrying of sadness as to how great raw things are tamed and made acceptable and judged like poodles.
