I want to take a construction cooler to the hamb drags and put water in it for everyone's consumption. Does anyone know where I can get block ice in Joplin or the area?

This is the only suggestion I have.
    Should have no problems.

Looks like 20th & Roosevelt is about 4 blocks west of 20th & Maiden Lane. Must be the same place. Mapquest doesn't show "Miners Ice", but does show "Reddy Ice" at the same location. Again, probably the same place.

    THANX!!!

Mapquest says to get on 44 (at the Holiday Inn) and go to the next exit west and then north to 20th. I'll prolly just go up Rangeline to 20th and then west.

    THANX AGAIN.

Suggestion; Just West of Springfield on I-44 ,,'bout 10 miles ,,you'll come to State Hi Way 96 ,,get off there ,,thats the Old Route 66 ,,takes you thru Carthadge ,MO ,and direct to Asbury ,,a great old hi way ,,Block Ice can be had in Carthidge and at the gas Station in Asbury,,BUT,,yhr trip on that old Route 66 is werth the effert ,,plus ,,save you miles & time from going thru Joplin ,,

From Holiday Inn, go North on Rangeline, to 20th St..then take 20th to the West...go all the way to Roosevelt/Ready Ice will be on the left/just before the train tracks on the left.

Im sure you could have figured that out, but there is some help just in case.
That will be a lot more simple than getting back on the highway/rerouting yourself...the roads in Joplin usually dont make any sense in the direction they take/are constructed..lol!

Its pretty cool of you to think of everyone like that.
    Thank you.

ALSO; the Old Route 66 Drive In Movie Theatre in Carthadge will have a double feature on Friday Nite ,,American Grifitti AND Two Lane Blacktop ,,,Carthadge is only a short drive from Asbury & MOKAN ,,Open Hedders ARE Aloowed ,,

OK. The construction cooler is washed; half full of fresh water; with one small block of ice in it. I'll be at the Holiday Inn tomorrow evening and MoKan Saturday and I'll have the cooler full of ice and water.

The cooler is orange (aren't they all?). If Clarence isn't on the track, the cooler will probably be showing in the back doors, which will be open. Whether I'm there or not, help yourself to the water. I've got some of the little pointed paper cups with it, but will probably run out of cups before the water runs out.

There will be 6 gallon jugs of water in the back of Clarence (or near the cooler if I'm out on the strip). If I'm not there and the water runs out please someone pour a of jug of water in the cooler.

    See ya there!!!

well; it's about drags time again.
does anyone know if reddy ice got hit by the tornado?

    are they still open?

everything i said above will be repeated, if i can get the block ice.

b-t-w; it's midnight and i'm leaving early tomorrow morning for a week long H-D trip and (probably) won't be near a computer. but i'll check the hamb when i get home before i leave again for springfield swap and mokan drags.

see ya in springfield &/or joplin.
