Got a question for you members. When I got my new computer & scanner I was in the "g" section which is where I started with the new computer.

Do you want me to post the stuff I posted before A through F? I'm going to re-scan them anyway as there are much better looking. I just want to know if you want me to re-post.

It will be awhile before I get to the "Z" section.

    Thanks,

    Plum

The best I can rember is the last two to run was the cycle & dragster for the top prize & the damm cycle.

What really got me involved in drag racing was a ad I seen in drag news that Stone-Woods-Cook was sell their B/GS Willys & I called & it was Tim Woods who answered the phone & we got to talking and became friends every since. I sure miss him.

Theres more to the story but when I get the time I tell you members the whole story on drag racing & myself.

I've been very lucky as I got into very heavy at the right time which was around 62-63.

Plum do you have pictures of Big Johns 61-62 Corvette gasser as they seem to be hard to find. Also pictures of Walley Booths Chevrolet race cars and Bruce Larsons drag cars. Love all of the pictures of the drag cars from back in the day.

My buddy Rusty Delling drove that car after Vic, and he is the one that had the nasty crash in it at Lions. It kicked the rods out, banged the blower, the blower hit him in the face knocking him out, and then crashed hard. He was critically injured and quit driving funnys after that.[/QUOTE]

I got to see that car driven by both Delling and Morse. It was beautiful and could turn decent times. What is Rusty doing today?

I have posted Bruce Larson's cars. Go back on the pages of the board.

I have some of Wally Booth but it will be awhile before I can get to them to re-post. I did a whole bunch of Pro Stock way back in the pages.

I have some of Big John Vette Gasser but not many.

I see if I can find them.

How many of you remeber when Quickie Too ran a 6.48 & everyone was dumbfounded. Like where did that come from. It was the first car in the 6.40's.

Today that would be a sick running BB/FC that run the NHRA circuit.

Time has really change but in those old days we really had fun.

My brother and I used to sit in the pit grandstand at Irwindale and watch these great funny cars run. Big John's car was always our favorite. I remembered Rich Siroonian drove for Big John but the name Danny Ongais was in the back of my head till I saw this picture and BINGO I knew he drove for Big John. Thanks Plum this brings back some good times for me as a kid at Irwindale.

Is that Bob Tasca? Looks like him. '60s Ford fans owe a lot to him.

You can add Pat Foster to the list of Big John F/C drivers, interesting note Draglist says that Wendall Shipman drove the car for one month then Rich Siroonian took over.

Big John told me that Rich wouldn't fit in the car for some reason but I don't remember what it was. I think it had something to do with the cage. Once Woodys got that straighten out Rich took over.

    Question & Comments;

Can anybody clear the Ramcharger photo?

MY OPION: I know all of you think of F/C you think of the first Alt. wheelbase cars. My opinion is 1960 as then when the big 3 went after each other big time. There was a lot of parts & equipment you could buy over the parts counter & stuff that was already on the car and from then on things got crazier & crazier, my opion.

The first color photo of Gas is a restored car.

In the last Rat Trap photo if you look behind it you can see part of the Rat Trap Top Fueler. This was taken at E-Town at NHRA Summernations.

I have a photo of it by it self & when I find it I'll post it.

You can add another driver for Big John as you can its Mike Snively driving in the last photo.

Also Larry Reyes sold this car to Paula Murphy & Larrt started driving the Hawaiian.
