Although mine is smaller , speaking from experience , Once you move in you will never fathom how you lived in a normal house .... Your work and art are inspirational .... God speed to beat the snow !

Chaz, congrats on the new digs. You're going to be in heaven when all of the details are worked out. I've often dreamed of converting an old warehouse into a home/shop/junkyard all under one roof with the living quarters elevated in a sort of balcony fashion. Too old to make it happen so the newer house we built and my 40'X80'X14' two story shop will serve until I take the dirt nap. Frank

Right on Chaz...Growing older is mandatory...Growing UP is optional. I'm 64 and enjoying my options. Love the new place, looking forward to watching your progress.

Awesome! I always wanted a converted barn. I looked into the S.I.P (insulated panels)construction to build a new one with post and beam style frame but settled for an old farm when I couldn't find vacant land. Good luck and keep us posted!
Here's some photos of where we're at as of today This is the crane lifting the fully finished roof onto the silo. The 32 trusses inside the silo roof Heating and cooling .I included a person for size relation. A shot from the driveway entrance The mandatory "artshot" I know this all looks pretty extravagant, but we dont spend money when we dont have to. If we DO have to spend, we get the good stuff. The entire cost is figgured to be about that of the average home. We are doing all the labor ourselves, and that is really where the savings are. It will take probably a full year to complete however.
Man Chuck, that thing is awesome. I need you to build me a new house. I took the Thunder Pig down to the snow cone shop at the local childrens home yesterday. Most of the kids there have Downs Syndrome. They loved the Pig. It would have made you smile. Doc.

Chaz- you and the guys never cease to amaze me! It is sooo refreshing to see people out building things that most people only dream of! And to be doing it all yourselves is the icing on the cake! Can't wait to make it out to visit!
if u use close cell foam for the shop space in a shop/house building with good exhaust. there wont be a problem with fumes in the living area. (paint excluded)
Man, if I had something like that I'd really have cars in my living room. I sometimes just like to admire the various angles and curves of my cars. Its like artwork only its on wheels. For now I have to settle for an attached 1 car and a 24x24 garage out back. I do have some creature comforts out there cable, electric & phone. i think a/c is the next thing. I know someone thats getting quotes on a (2) 100X50 barns for his collection.
