Sheesh, LowCat! Two great pics in a row! Do my eyes
deceive me, or is that two 450-horse Liberty V-12 aero
    engines??? Holy cats!

    Might be THREE!
There is another straight ahead of the back two. A shaft with multiple beaings runs straight to it between the back two. Anybody know if it ever ran?

That's the White Triplex, with 3 engines. I haven't got a link handy, but there's plenty of material out there if you look. It ran, and crashed.

    triplex

Lee Bible, a garage owner and all around great guy signed up. The only problem was, he didn’t have experience driving at such speeds, much less controlling a vehicle with no active user interface. On his first two runs, Bible clocked 186 and 202 mph resepectively, short of either record. Bible’s second run was also his last as he lost control in the sand and went off the track into a sand dune at around 200 mph causing the whole thing to roll down the beach for another 200 ft or so, ending the record attempt and his life.

  19. This is a neat pic. Anybody know why these chassis are hanging like this? I was wondering if it was to display the differences between the 48 transverse sprung chassis and the "new" 49 with Hotchkiss suspension.
Factory pic I assume. Any more info??:)

Plym46, yup, I know what a Graham was. I just didn't take this car for a Graham. My first impression was a Nash or maybe one of the very last Lafayettes.
