I have been watching this one for a while....great thread, but it just makes you sad.......especially since there are millions of cars like this all over this great nation , and the world for that matter :(

How many of them will be saved? How many will not and simple rot and fade away?

Here are a few I have shot:

A 1917 Hupmobile Model N touring. I am working to save this one

A 1926 Chrysler "50". Still in great shape! Buried under brush for 40+ years which protected it very well.

Both were saved from destruction many years ago by a good friend...they ended up outside due to lack of good storage.

Here are a few Pontiacs and others near my home. Most are way too far gone, at least from mid door down.

I took these pics a few weeks ago on my first trip to a different local junkyard.
Place is called Martin's, along Hwy 34 between Loveland and Greeley CO. Good thing is, everything is for sale. They crush very little here (mostly the newer stuff) so there is definitely potential for many cars to get back on the road.

I didn't get a pic, but there are also 2 or 3 A/B Sedans sitting near the front, they all have the cowl basically sitting inside the body detached, but they are in pretty good shape.

They also have this car out front away from the pick-a-part area, they want a grand for it.

I dont have any pictures of it but, 48 GMC setting behind farmers house, I made a point of stopping in and asking if he would sell it and everytime i was told that he couldnt sell it since it was part of his family. I joined the Air Force right out of highschool but everytime i came home i would stop in and ask if he was ready to sell it, everytime the same responce. The old man passed away a few years back and my mom went to check on his wife and she met my mom at the door with the title to the 48 saying the he wanted me to have it, now i just have to retire (less than a year) and drag it to where i retire to. Some times you have to be persistant and put up with the stories about when, why, where they bought it, you never know you may eventually get it. By sitting and talking to him i was able to find out that is all original except for the fuel tank and paint, currently blue and silver but it was origanally red. A lot that i would have never known about the truck if i didnt make the time to listen.

Newrider3 thanks for the memories. I was in that yard many years ago getting parts for my 63 Ford convert. Went to school at Wyo Tech way back when. There used to be some great yards around that area and Cheyenne, Wyo. Many are long gone.

I see this thread as proof that there are plenty of subjects for restoration,,
like "so many cars, so little time",,

Agreed, so many cars so little time. Just got back from Reno SwapMeet. The amount of builders was unreal. There are plenty of projects out there. Just makes you sad to realize they can't all be saved.

I want that roadster also. There are two almost identical like that, $4500 each. Some of the stuff is for sale but not cheap.

That 55 Chevy looks like it is VERY solid, even over the headlight.

That whole car is very solid, all original with the six and still runs. I would love to have it. Not for sale, been in the family since new. The 60's Buick wagon has a 401 in it and am waiting to hear back, they may give it to me if I haul it off.

Yes that is a 5 window [ickup. I also thought $4500 was steap on the roadster, it is strange they have a Model A Tudor sedan mostly there for $2200 which looks like a deal to me.

Found this 65 Buick Skylark stuffed in the bushes in Groton, CT right next to the Naval subase. Car was complete including trim, 318 wildcat engine, which was frozen solid! Found the owner who sold me the car for $200. Dragged the car behind a wrecker and could never get the engine to run.
I ended up selling the car to guy in upstate New York who needed the trim from his drag car!
