    this is a 250,000 car right? i remember working at a home where there was one in the garage, the old guy was going to sale it to me, but he died before we were done working on his house. and that was the end of that. i think his kid took it and who knows what happened to it?
    he was a cool old guy, i just really liked it when i saw it, i was only 21 at the time. he said his kid were a bunch of money hungry assholes! he rather a car guy take it then his son, oh well thats life for ya!

  20. I think $250k would be a pretty good deal for a complete gullwing.

    I've seen a few invitation catalogue auctions in 2010 that went +/-$400k.

    If you had it why not? What would you save it for? There are plenty of pristinely restored examples in the world all competing for shiney concours ribbons.... but only one thats badass enough to run at the salt.

    This '27 is The Hayseed Special of Dave Thomssen. Dave was the flathead and Ardun guru for many cars he and we ran out of Lincoln, Nebraska including the 990 Original Golden Rod, the 322 Red Box Streamliner and Swamp Rat 33 streamliner. Dave won D/Altered at the 1960 US Nationals and has been a fixture at Bonneville since the 1970's. Over the years his engines have set almost a dozen records.

    Not to argue price of car but they are more into the 350K ball park.
    Once had my hands on one in Italy and a buddy and I had our doors blown off by a white one up north of Chicago.

    Would I do this with a Aluminum Gullwing?....If I owned it...YES :D<!-- / message --><!-- sig -->
