We have a "lego room".. they still make it into the living room. Maybe because that is where I play with them.

Oh yes, definitely teach 'em young. When I first met my stepson he was eight years old. On his first ride in my '56 F-100 he was grinning from ear to ear! That's one of my most treasured memories. Sending Memphis some Aloha from his HAMB Uncle Eli in Hawaii.

    !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! QUESTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    >>>Here's a question for ya, right now I have a Posies Spring out back in conjunction withVern Tardel 1" longer Shackles I am looking to get the rear end down another inch-inch and a half. Should I take a leaf or two out? If so which ones? Or should I take the spring as a whole to get rerolled/reached?

On another note, I'm a gutten for punishment so on Saturday I decided that before I do the brakes, I should really scrape, clean and paint the underside of the car with POR-15. Worst decision I have ever made. What a chore!!! I should have pics of how that turned out later this week. Brake might be done by the end of the weekend too!

The stance Django? See once the engine gets mounted I feel like it's going to have a bit too much rake. I love the stance and rake right now but if the engine drops it another 1" then I think it'll be overboard so I'd like to get it down a bit more in the back to keep things as is.

Another thing to point out is that the side shown is the "lower side". It's weird because the drivers side is leaning lower then the passenger side. And I know this is sometimes common after years of use but these springs are new. Anything to look for?

I'm running the same setup, posies rear spring with longer shackles. Haven't got it installed yet, but planning to pull the top two leaves and run them below the main leaf. It takes a little spring out and lowers the body over the leaf at the same time. I haven't measured yet, but am assuming that the top leaf is long enough to clamp, if not, I'll make a couple of spacer leaves.

Thanks for asking, cause I'll be able to benefit from the responses too.

Yeah there is definitely something going on with the ubolts back there cvstl. I think I might have to make some spacers as you said because there's a 3/4" gap from the ubolt pucks and the bottom of the spring so they can't be snugged. Should I make a single block you think to take up that space? Am I missing something?

Do you have a reversed eye spring up front? If so, put the engine in and put the spring eyes back down. Problem solved.

As long as its not too long, I would think that a single block should be fine, just wide enough for the u-bolts to clamp tight, and round off the edges to prevent a stress concentration point with bottom of the main leaf.

Monoleaf. I actually think I can put some of the spacers on the top which will work.

You know what I figured out just now which sucks. I originally reversed my own spring and was going to use it with leaves pulled but when I picked up that '33 Coupe it came with a posies so the guys through that under the car when they put it together. Now I am running numbers and I am realizing that the posies is 1-3/4" wide as opposed to 2" which is not going to work. I am either going to need another spring or to put the reversed one I did in there. It's sort of sketchy though since it's incredibly pitted. Hmmmmmm.

Between a new spring and a radiator possibly I am going to be tapped in no time at all.

Are you referring to a new front spring? If so, get the dimensions and bring them to a spring shop. It is MUCH less than you'd expect. In fact, I was speaking to posies about a tapered Super Low spring for the front of my 20T and they didn't have any in stock. We got to talking about the dimensions and I had my own made (not as pretty but more like stock now that I've trimmed it). I think I have less than $40 into that spring.

If you're referring to the rear, well, that's a different story.

FWIW, I'm running a stock original radiator and it works great. If its not leaking, put a good fan on and run the old one.

Man, I hate to see a good man tapped so just send me that 33' and I'll buy ya the new radiator and springs. If you deliver it I'll even throw in a LEGO set for your Lil' M! (The big set too, not those cheesy ones!)

Glad to hear your boy is doing better and like was said earlier, the two hour feedings end quick. Yesterday my premie daughter was on 4-hour feedings, today she is driving on her own!

Yep it's the rear that we're talking about.:(

I planned on running the originally but it definitely looks like it had some leaks and it pretty trashed. Before I start getting crazy I am going to take it to a shop and have it tanked and tested to see where I'm at.

Thanks man. I can't believe how fast it's going so far. Tomorrow he'll be 6 weeks old!!! Time is definitely flying.

As for that '33, let me think about it;). Believe it or not I need that radiator more then the '33 hahahaha!!!! I want to drive!!!

If this story doesn't define hotrodding, I don't what does.

Before you know it, he'll be trying to nick your keys and drive that badass 35.

    Thanks for sharing.

Nope Chris, I'm not....you know this damn it. But now if you see my second to last post before this, the spring that's in there is a '34 Ford posies unit I believe. I'll confirm it when I get home and measure but that's the way it looks right now. I am going to need to swap it out anyhow so I guess my question still stands.

So I guess I might have to reverse another spring and take some leafs out and see where I'm at. Or pony up and spend the $270 on a posies that fits.

  26. Ummmm...32-34 springs are curved...front to back. So if that spring is strait it's gotta be a 35-40

You blow my mind with all this information to store away in that giant square head of yours. Draw me a picture because I am not entirely sure I understand. Curved like how?

Wait a minute... if it's straight you can have a spring made, easily. I got to stop thinking about Model T and A stuff. You really only need a new main made and slightly re-arch the other leafs to match.

  29. See how the spring "wraps" around the center section? That is 32-34 rear
