Renee and I got the chance to hang out with the Alexander brothers at Lancaster years ago. Larry was a very down to earth very kool guy. last week I took in my poster to get framed that they autographed.. I hurt for the family and many friends. Prayers will go out to everyone... Mick
I still havent fully came to terms that Larry Watson has died, now this...these legands are leaving us everyday
I had Larry sign the dash of my truck at the Detroit Autorama several years ago and showed him pics of what I was working on. He took my picture book and went over to a chair and sat down and wanted to hear all about what I was doing. He sure was a nice guy....RIP
I met Larry at the 50th Grand National Roadster show. My girlfriend and I were standing outside under an awning deciding what we were going to do next when an older gentleman started talking to us and asking where we were from etc. At the time I didn't know who he was. I had heard of the Alexander Bros. but had no idea what they looked like. It wasn't until he started talking about the work he and his brother Mike had done that I realized I was talking to a true legend but it truely was just like talking to someone else who was really into cars. A super nice down to earth guy. It truely is sad seeing the legends pass away. R.I.P. Larry
larry was a member of the downriver model car club. we were all gonna sign a deora model box for him to take when he moved. he was a great guy, we'll all miss him
If thats not bad enough, Bo Huff just found out he has cancer yesterday.... He's a fun guy, and a tough bird. Its in the begining stages, so im sure he'll pull through.
I just got the call... What a sad, sad day. Larry was a cool guy, and he is deeply missed. I wish I had been able to spend more time with him while he was here. What a class act. Godspeed Larry.......
A true craftsman and a real gentelman. last month Larry Watson now this getting old sucks all my heros are leaving us.
P, those interviews with Larry and Mike are some of the best moments of any MFS DVD. Larry came across as a real humble guy. I'm glad you managed to catch him on film for guys like me that would never have met him.
Dammit... :-( Larry and Mike Alexander built cars with Class... They shouldve been lead designers for the big three... It was great seeing Larry year after year at the Autorama- I'll never forget him telling all the stories from when they first started out.. the paint booth with the dirt floor... and snow blowing in though the cracks in the winter in Detroit... :-D I started painting in a shed with a dirt floor... those stories just made you feel like you could do anything... That guy felt like a member of the family... he reminded me of my grampa Ammon- I hope Mikes doing ok... we're all gonna miss Larry for sure. Tuck
Passing's like this make's you pray for the family and fan's of this man. Another name you have known all your life die's, you lose something you can not describe. You feel left behind somehow.
