Mickey Thompson ET Streets question

  1. So dual 750 cfm carbs are probably a lot for your 383, so maybe you need to lean it out a bit?

LMAO! I almost forgot about "ridge"! Ok, I'll try and be patient. Funny that more videos haven't surfaced yet from other people. There were cameras all over the place. I say that and I haven't posted mine either though:eek:

Hydraulic roller cams will run out of grunt at 6200- 6500 as the start to float the hydraulic piston in the lifter. Keep the shift points at around 6k and she will sing to ya !!

At 2.05, I think your front left is catching air.

Hmmmm...I think you may be right. I remember it felt like it could have when I left. I was really starting to groove towards the end...taching it up more at the line and such. Like I say I'm still very green. Shifts sounded good. Only missed one that weekend...the one that counted:D

Great footage! Wish i coulda been there! I didn't realize you were running two 4s, for some reason i was thinking multiple dueces (hence the comment about needle/seat area).

You've got a solid machine there that's only gonna get faster with some good tweaking-cant wait to see what she can do from here.

Thanks Rick! I told Herb tonight I'm going into the 11.70's without a gear change at Reunion next Saturday. That's in the middle of the day too! I can't help myself...I like to make predictions/goals. If all goes swimingly and I can (with Herb's help) change my rear gear ratio it's really going to get interesting. Probably going to jet it up a bit too. Plugs were a light tan and I did plenty of idling.

It did catch air at 205 i seen it .Looks and sounds to me like your shifting into 2nd in the first 60' .That right there will make you 60' time look worse than it is with a stick shift car .Not that it makes your total ET for the 1/4 any different ,but it can make it look like your having a problem that you dont have off the line ,if you go by the time slip.My 60' time is the first thing i look at on the time slip ,then the mph ,lastly the total ET.I dont see anything wrong with the way it leaves ,looks good and handles the shock of the clutch drop well IMO .You say you were launching at 5k ? ...

  27. Nice vids. Looked like you spin on the 2-3 p***es I saw, how was the track for everyone else?

People seemed to be running good. It was pretty sticky considering the heat.
