Ha! Just wait until it is finshed. Lots of surprises left. Then I will cop a real attitude! Seriously, you guys raised the bar and told me jump over it. I made it this time. Probably fall on my face next time!

Now if I can figure out how to build cars as well as the RevTones play... :D

I actuall did NOT see the invite thing or I would have. My fault. You sent it but I missed it. So I brought the kid. And RUSHED her out of the shop when the pinata got brought out! HA HA! That was funny as hell actually. But again, my error.

BS. Can't expect me to forget a guy who molests steering wheels and garnish moldings to the degree that you do. Another damn bar-raiser!

Nice pics! Loved that old gas station. What a rare and lucky find.

Glad you were able to see a bit of the REAL west. Gunnison is great in the summer, but hell in the winter. Frequently has the coldest temps in the nation.

If you are thinking Colorado, you should consider Hotchkiss on the other side of the Elks and Gunnison canyon. Much more temperate and located within the libertarian enclave of Delta County. That ought to be tempting...I saw your bumper sticker.

I lived in delta. For a long time. Gets cold as hell there to. It is warmer during the winter on this side of the mountains.

Don't tell my wife that! I have her convinced that it is warmer there than Berthoud. We just bought 20 acres in Hotchkiss a couple of months ago.

Actually, if you look at the weather data you will find that winter temps are highest in Hotchkiss, then Colorado Springs where you are, then Delta. When you lived in Delta, every place was colder. Then things have warmed up this decade compared to what they were back when. Skews your perception a bit.

One thing for certain, Gunnison is the coldest of them all!

Gunnison sure is nice in the Summer for sure...I really liked it there. It was a drag to have to come back to the Bay Area after being up there.

No worries ,I had a blast and the youngun got to bed on time which is a good thing coz it was back to school for him on monday morning:D
Next year we'll be there with bells on!! By the way I'm putting your name down on the crew list for Bonneville next year:D
    Cheers
    Tim

  18. Tim,

My friend, if you are serious, I'll make Bonneville happen, period. Have always wanted to go, and the thought of hangin' out with you would make it a too cool !

Remember, bring the youngster (and Sarah) nest year.

    Later, Johnnie.

  19. Hey, Marcus! What about Grand Junction? Lots more bars to play, slightly bigger town, more amenities, and a short drive to Delta, Gunnison, etc., plus the weather's better!:p So there! Lots of Libertarians here, too!

Hey! He's not the only one around these parts that knows how to turn a wrench. Besides, at least I know how a mechanical injector works! :D

    Hey everybody,
I just read all the posts from after this years show. What great pictures and posts. It was a great time and a very special thanks to Johnnie and Laura for the party and letting us stay at the house. Its great to enjoy all the libations and then only have to stumble a few yards to the bed. It was our honor to induct Tom and Michelle in to the Lonely Knights and to introduce our newest pledges, Harry and Kim Truitt with thier awesome Desoto. The show was great, but once again the party at the "Lonely Knights Western Headquarters" was the best.
It was nice to meet fellow Hambers, Ghost28 and Rodguyinco. Great to see Madcad again. All great guys.
Thanks to and from all the Knights and once again, congrats to Tom and Michelle.

    Big Rich

    Hey
Great meeting you in Gunnison. Is that a real Sedan Delivery? We are gonna have the first ever Panel Nationals this Labor Day Sunday in Colorado Springs. PM me if interested. For the first year we are gonna have it as part of Back Street Custom's Paint and Primer Show.
    Hope to see you

Having been once, for only about an hour because we were passing through and in a rush to get back home, I can tell you for fact that one can get into big trouble out there on the salt. It is REALLY easy to catch salt fever. Once you do, it will cost you a pile of dough! Look at MadCad. He abandoned England to come dwell with the Mayflower deserters. Significant sacrifice.

Seriously...made me even think that I could build a car an try it out. That after only one hour. Crazy place, that Bonneville!

That said, would love to see Johnnie out there with MadCad. Johnnie gets the fever and the duece fivewindow becomes a real contender. Good thing that those hood bulges are stainless steel!

Borrowed from the Pebble Beach thread:

My all-time favorite lakester. Love to see that with a vintage inline with a little more go than the Pontiac they used. 302 GMC with a Wayne 12 port would be about ideal. Think that we could stuff Johnnie into the cockpit?
