VERY COOL Wanda. Is the Hook set yet? Will we see it on the track more? The track is the best setting for that car.:D

ME.Gasser.............Good to see the shots of your car. I think of Pork Zartman every time I see it.
Heres a shot or two taken at Manasses. The Jolly Dolly and the yellow Willys of Pam & Paul Balash.

    Hi john,
You never know with larry. It sure was fun being able to make one of the passes with him in the passengers seat.

Al Tschida's recently completed clone of his Nationals winning C/Gas Willys. It's a 4 speed car.

Is that a floating rear axle? I haven't seen that in years! Beautiful car!

In the 60's using a floater was a cheap way to get a deep gear that was bullet proof. This clone has a 5.38 whereas the original usually ran a 5.83. I'm not positive how the rear in the clone is assembled. Could be a 9" Ford with floater ends to look like the original. I'll find out.
Also, the clone has a 383 sbc and the original usually had a 301 sbc.

I remember seeing them when I was a kid in the '60s. My buddies dad said they were truck rear ends and I thought it weird someone would use truck parts on a race car. Guess I was sharp as a marble from an early age. :D

  27. I agree...
Traditional does not mean "cookie cutter". Who voted on the final say of what is or is not traditional...I never received my ballot.
    PS cool car!

I had Rick Knight touch up the paint on the old coupe this spring.

The paint from the cowl back is original from the 60's. The ghost flames, racing stripes, pin stripes are all from the original pics of it.

I have owned this car 15 years and race it around 200 times a year with the CSGA here in Okla. It currently runs 10.10 at 134mph.

Back in the day it ran 9.70's with a 354 hemi in B/ Gas supercharged.

I check this thread on a regular basis and think it's one of the best on the HAMB.

    Thanks, Fred
