Dodge-Charger, A main reason as to why you didn't see the 67' Cuda 383/280HP at the track. For one, a late arrival. It was not part of the initial production (September 66' release date). It was a mid-year addition, I believe February 1967 may have been the first release date for the Big-Block in the A-Body. Also, only 1884 383/280HP Cuda's were built. (1036 4-speed cars, 748 automatics). As for the GTS 383 Darts, only 457 were built. (229 4-speed cars, 228 automatics). I don't even think the basic header manufacturers (ie; Hooker or Doug) had headers available for these cars, until mid-year 1967. pc
Way back ...there was a trumped up Q/S rivalry in Drag Times, between "Honest Pop" Buckles from Delaware and his Olds vs. Matty Winspur in his "Fabulous Hudson Hornet" from Monroe,Ct. What ever became of both Old koots OR the Cars?
Here are a few shots taken yesterday at the Div. 1 race at Cecil County. As you can see, Ole Spyder is still going strong!
Hi Guys and Gals, I went to the Div.! at Cecil Co. and had a ball! I found that "Bob Bender" wagon but never did find the owner to say "Hi". There were some GOOD cars there and saw some friends that I haven't seen in some time. I also drove the "Anderson Olds" '69 W31 to cruise night Friday night---new drivetrain worked like a champ---will try to get with some race buddies and rent the track to really dial it in, feels REAL GOOD now, though---hoping for some low 12's. I drove past a MD State Trooper with the car lettered up and on slicks (through mufflers) and he didn't seem bothered---I was happily surprised. Until next time.....Dave.
