I think Doc is correct on all counts, it might not have been anything he did, but I am pretty sure it the Punk would have been much happier in Doc's garage. Perhaps it spontaneously combusted to get away from what it was parked next to, I don't know. I am just happy it is no longer in my garage. I was tired of hauling that thing around and trying to keep it clean. I like building stuff like that, however, I do not like owning it! ha ha ha

As for fixing it, I am not sure why they are tearing it all apart. I would have just panel painted all of the top flat surfaces with chunky red flake and moved on. I was considering painting it like that to begin with....

Looking at that picture closer....does it look like it melted the top of the transmission? Wow!

 

Maybe that's why they took the body off. I don't live too far from that place... I could drop by with a Camera...

I'd repaint it to match its new stablemate. That roadster is sick.....really. It looks like someone or something puked on it.

from someone who knows. The body was taken off due to smoke damage to the frame. The body has a burn spot on it and a few other imperfections. It is going to be repainted as original.

 

I see about 5 strands of poorly routed wire, most likely the hot ones running from starter or to coil shorted or melted on the manifold and a little arky sparky. I see a ton of shitty hacked wiring jobs on really nice cars. Some guys do body work, and some do wiring and mechanical. Judging by the way they were routed I guess they did body work.

 

saw this car in person at the mooneyes christmas show this past december...thought it was amazing! such a shame if it goes to waste, I saw that thing getting rained on....screw trailer queens...this is an awesome hot rod

Four of those poorly routed wires look to be what is left of the sparkplug wires. They usually go from the distributor cap to the spark plugs. How would you want them routed? Shezz.....

 

Opps, I stand corrected. I guess I should get a larger monitor. but judging by the other side I wouldn't route them over the headers.

You don't need a bigger monitor,just hold the control(ctrl) key and use the scroll wheel on your mouse.That is if you have a scroll wheel on your mouse.....

Yeah,it sucks that it had an "improper combustion" incident.

I'm in the camp that thinks that it's pissed off for sharing garage space with his "other" pride and joy.

 

Over the headers? WTF? Its a Hemi, they are through the valve covers, not over the headers.

Go ahaead and go back and take a look, I am sure you can find something else to correct.

It would be easier to look at the builder he has all sorts of flaws you could correct.

 

If it were me, I would change it up a bit like they did back in the 60's. Hell, it has looked the same for 2 years. After spending all of that time baking and freezing in the trailer it needed a repaint..... Like I said, Chunky flake panel paint job.......if I would have kept it, I would have continued to beat it up then repainted the whole thing antifreeze green.

 

antifreeze green with that bubble? Dude, it would look just like your liver. I'd actually like to see it. And the car painted green too. Mostly, I'd like to see your liver though.
