Hello to all. My name is Eric and I am from Northern Maine. I have always been very interested in old hot rods, restos andthe idea of a modern chassis under older vehicles. I am a car nut and enjoy tinkering with most anything. I have looked around the site quite a bit and am very impressed with the knowlege and skills that many members have shared with everyone. It is enjoyable to see a group that helps each other out with their projects and can save others big pitfalls in their projects by posting onto this site. I hope to make many new friends and someday soon have a nice project that I can share my experiences with the group! I am going to get a decent 42-47 ford pickup cab and nose this week, and possibly an s10 chassis to mount it on. I haven't seen any forums on this model in particular but I am sure it has been done with success. Can't wait to discuss this project with everyone! Thanks for being there!

Dixfield äyuh! Im about 3 hours North of Bangor up near Presque Isle and Caribou. I go through wonderful Dixfield every time I head back to my hometown in Vermont! As a matter of fact the place I work for painted one of your sand trucks that your town uses. It is an old international that is all orange with a big funnel looking body on it... we spent many hours on that old truck!

Thanks for all the warm welcomes everyone! I can't wait to get started on my old truck and will be scanning the site for all the info I can get. My 1950 Buick is coming up from Vermont in a few weeks and I may steal some odds and ends from it to customize the old ford, but who knows it may just end up on craigslist to fund the rest of the project! Id love to use the old straight 8, but I dont want to use the dynaflow trans, and I would rather not spend 900 dollars on an adaptor kit.

Welcome from Hudson, about 15 miles west of Bangor. Lets see some pics of that 50 Buick before you put it up on CL!

I wish I was... I work over on the base at the HUMVEE place, and saw a lot of very nice rides on my way home from work the the Friday before the Speed races. Hopefully sometime next summer I will be cruising in my old truck!

Hi there! Nice to see so many people on here from Northern Maine. My projects are on hold until spring I think due to no heat in the garage, but there are a couple odds and ends I can do like rebuild the carb in the basement or something like that I suppose. I need to get some pics of the projects and start a build log soon. We are going to do lots of planning before we get serious into the builds to save some aggrevation later. Hopefully we will see each other on the roads with our projects sometime soon!
