    Hi Ron !
Im soo happy finding this tread , I got just what your doing infront of me , a -36 5W and tudor doors and a large love for John Fishers -36 3W . There is one really cool issue you get around doing a topchop on a 3W this way and it seems universal for all chopped customs , the center of the crown in the sidewindow and the top of the crown of the roofskin should be in the center of the door in order to look right ,
chopped top leaning forward = chopped too much in the front = top of crown ( sidewindow opening , topskin ) behind the center of door ,
chopped top leaning towards the rear = fastback look = chopped too much in the rear = top of crown ( sidewindow , topskin ) in front of the center of door ,
An original 3W lean forward from the start and its tempting to chop equal amount front and back or just slightly more in the back due to easier to get the shapes to fit in the back and even if the top skin is chopped with the center of topskin in the center of the door the windowopening in the door still tend to have top of crown behind center of the door making it look like its chopped more in the front .
What your doing looks to be brilliant since you separate topskin and window opening , a trick offen seen done by the Barris bros . Thanks for doing this , I will follow the progress close . Be sure to copy the length from a 3W between trunklid and where the top starts since it looks like this measurment is longer on a 3W compered with a 5W .
    Best wishes Wolf

The work you're doing is inspiring and amazing! What I'm laughing about is that with all your dedication to perfection you haven't spelled " El Polacko " right even once! Just messing with you... I'm in awe of you're work on this build. You can copy and past his name from my post if you'd like......

  3. Yes there is a difference between the 5 and 3 window which I have made a template from Elpalcko's car as reference. I have been working on the car but nothing that photos need to show at this time. I have been doing alot of measuring and comparing with the three cars that inspired me. When I do get that area that you are refering to I will try to make the measurement public like the last ones earlier in this post.

ElP and myself laugh about it all time and give each other a hard time. I have 3 day weekend coming up soon so hopefully there will be some more updates. As a side note you guys should check out Hellonwheels post on the car that he is doing as well its bad ass.

  9. So the left side is ruffed in at this point and can now start on the right side. I used some photo's that timebomb john sent me from his stock 3 window that he is chopping and that really helped on the lower part of the sail panel to the rear deck area. DesertDroog and another friend are going to help me move the car around tonight so I can do the other side since it is still stock 5 window door opening. After the right side looks like the left side I can move onto the rear window and then filling the roof. More updates to come.

  16. You of all people should know that this is our winter where we are stuck inside. I will be back on the car soon. I have done small stuff like turn the car around for the work to begin on the rt side and the right door has been hung and the right quarter panel has been rough cut and the door jamb cut out but that is it so far. Should have a new update with photos by the end of sept beging of oct.

  17. It's 75 inside right now! Feels like summer finally broke. I know it's a trick fuck but I'm going to revel in the cool air for a few hours today.

  18. EEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRR if I had a shop like yours it would be that two. how about renting me some space in our winter then I could hang out with you all day.

  22. I so love seeing the build of the coupe and the conversations that we have back and fourth with email. I guess your secret is out now that you are building a coupe to go with the convert. So when do I get to see the photo with the coupe and convert next to each other? Hey all on the HAMB if you want really detailed shots of chopping a coupe like this see his photobucket account for step by step pics.

Hey Dude! It's off topic, but did you loose your exhaust pipe from your mini bike a couple of weeks ago at my place? A neighbor of mine walked up with this twisted mangled mini bike muffler on Tuesday and said "you probably know about this" and set it on my porch! Just thinkin'!
