todays update . well i got screwed again called summit to see if my headers were sent out they said nope..so i asked why they said the replacements for the ones i sent back and re ordered for the small block were outtaq stock so i said thanks for letting me know when i called the other 3 times to make sure the order went out today..so long story short i did what i shoulda did from day one i orderd fenderwell headers from patriot for the small block i know im in store for modifications what else is new. on another crappy note i went to fill the radiator with fluid the damn things gotta leak, now i gotta send it out in the a m hope i get it back by 3 so i can put it back in after work...thank god i got a new job or id be screwed and my boss is cool letting me use the shop account for my own parts so it helps to save a couple bucks here and there ....
how about the name "8 pot revolver", seein' as though the engine has been in an' out a few times. or "iron block yo-yo!" i have a camaro that we had the same drama with, lunched a small block, stuck in a supposedly good big block, only to find it was junk and have to rebuild the small block to go back in. 2 steps forward , one step back.
todays update .. so i finally get my headers i orderd patriot fenderwell headers and guess what they didnt fit....wtf ,,,, i asked if they would fit a small block chevy in a tri 5 and whata ya know they were wrong again so i took a pair of long tube headers cleaned them up painted them white with 2000 degree high temp paint, installed 2 new header gaskets and collectors, set timing and she fired up...runs great 180 degree thermostat electric fan start great runs smooth may need a very small amount of carb tuning nothing major ....shes ready for its mayden voyage to the rumble on saturday... oh yea i did a nice burn out also that was the test ...lol.... after the rumble i may either send the headers back or i may take them to a guy i know so he can re direct the driver side tubes over the steering box...thats the only trouble im having with them .....
todays up date . i finally made it to the rumble..had to stop one time going for a loose ground to the fuel pump.no sweat . got to the rumble had a blast ... on the way home we set out bumper to bumper traffic tunnel ram no like stop and go ...lol.....so i get passed traffic stayed cool 180 190 tops no problem set out to the open road fuel filter clogs up....ran a low tank o gas all the rust in the tank got sucked up..easy fix...on my way 20 mins ....about 20 miles away plugs fowl had to stop and clean them ...after that smooth sailing all the way home ..did a burn out at a traffic light a block away from home ...all in all a great trip...good thing i had tools with me.....
this 56 is a trouble maker ...but it got me there and back so i cant complain the ride was great got alot of feed back from passer buyers..a ton of thumbs up and smiles i had a guy ride next to me for about 3 miles smileing...i was like wtf ....is he laughing with me or at me....lol....
yea trouble maker....it def suits the car nothing but trouble.....all day long but i still had a blast..
Good to see you put some miles on it. Dont be a trouble maker in public, pass gas while sitting at the computer .

small update i changed the tires on the car to make it look more late 50's style gasser ..and also i put 29.5 inch tires in the rear so i could kick the rpms down a little bit so it would be more highway friendly ...4 speed, 456 gears in the rear = 3000 rpms screaming in my ear ...so i had raise the rear tire size to lower the rpm's for the highway
i got the rears for free just to see how much the rpms would drop before i order the real pie crusts..
i think i need a 30.0/8/15 so i can be able to drive it on the highway and the rpms not screaming so bad and also keep up with the traffic at about 65 70
Cool, who's tires are you think'n of use'n ? What is that rim width or are you also changeing to a wider stocker?
rim rear size is a 15 x 7 as far asw what brand i have no clue was thinking if i got with some vintage looking pie crust tires i dont know if i should do black walls or white ( i like wide whites ) or go with a new style tire like a mickey t et street ...i dunno which to use i wanna keep it 50's looking so im guessing wide whites pie crust whos good ? other than radir im poor ..
It doesn't even look like a 7 in the photo. Looks more like a 15 5. That will work good with the size you mentioned.
those look real sweet ..... yea they are 15 x 7 i was looking at the stamped marking on the inside of the rim to make shure the fronts are 15x5's
hey teddy i named it already .. a couple pages back i called it the trouble maker cause all i get is trouble with ...always somthing to work on ....so i guess people were right the name will come ......so there we now offically have it the cars name is the " Trouble makeR"...
