    Hi every one,

I'm Tom from the Adelaide hills in South Australia, I've been popping my head in every now and then so I thought it was about time I joined. I own a 1967 HR Holden, many of you might not know what that is so I've attached a couple of photos. Its currently undergoing a full rebuild.
Here is what it looked like at the start of the year, and a more recent photo.

  7. welcome to the hamb, there are plenty of HR holden heads on here, although we do have to watch our mouths a bit , as a HR isnt totally hamb friendly!

Thanks for the warm welcome guys.

Oldsedude, yeah I thought a HR was a bit too new to fit in. I have aspirations for something sleek and cool. it'll just have to wait til this project is done.
That HR of yours looks a treat, I love those hollywood trim kits.

  11. Hey Tom, Welcome. So what,s a Hollywood trim kit ? Are you reffering to the Nasco rear wheel spats ?

    34 GAZ,

I'm referring to the stainless trim on the side of the car.
Most Holdens of that era (depending on the model) only had a single piece of stainless trim running down each side of the car.
The additional lower section of trim and fill colour between the two trims is what I know as 'Hollywood trim' and I think it was a dealer option back in the day, its hardly ever seen these days. Well, I've only ever seen a couple.

  15. the HR hollywood trim was rare as rocking horse ****, because by 1967 people werent really that into the flashy moulds etc, they were more of an early 60's fad.

you could order the car new from the dealer with a variety of different "nasco" trim and accessory options, this extra mould kit with different color painted in the infill was one of these options and was called a 'hollywood' flash because of its ''flashy, movie/rock star" bling bling appeal.
