Took care of most of my checklist on the frame and then dropped it off at the blasters. Picked up some sand while I was there, so tomorrow I'll be cleaning up the body, 21-inch wheels and a bunch of miscellaneous little parts.

If all goes well tomorrow, Monday the engine will get degreased and a good scrubbing and set-up for paint.

Hi John. You know what I'm doing. Finally working on my '53 Chevy pickup. Bought a perfect-running 261 for it a couple of days ago. Cleaning that up, gaskets and a paint-job, and installing it in the truck. Doing it in my 91 year old neighbor Lee's pole-barn/shop...or what the farmers around here call a "tool-shed"...a 9000 sq. ft. tool shed...LOL. I cleaned and organized his "shed" this summer, so he's letting me work on my stuff in there. Lots of room, nice cement floor, etc.

This is the object of my affection and attention right now. Had it for sale for a while, but decided to put it together myself. You can kinda see why I'm doing it at Lee's place, and not at ours, where the picture was taken...kinda "airy". Lee has doors...that actually close.

    Happy Labor Day Weekend everybody!

My cousin and I are spending the long weekend working on the frame for my 1940 Ford truck. Spent the first day and a half sand blasting a frame from a 1/2 ton truck and repairing some cancer only to find that the cab from the 3/4 ton doesn't fit the 1/2 frame.

Switched gears after dinner to figuring out how to use the 3/4 ton frame and chop it down to size for the 1/2 ton bed and fenders. Gotta figure out where to cut 42 inches from the frame. I knew the 3/4 ton frame looked LOOONG but was amazed when I actually measured the length.

Tomorrow will be mocking up the cab, bed and front fenders to figure out where to apply the plasma cutter. ;')

Taking full advantage of it, wether or not others are available for help. Too much to do to get my 57 F100 kustom on the road in time for next weekend's Cruz N Eureka, and then Billetproof after that. In the middle of servicing the trans tonight, gettin some front end help tomorrow before reloading the drivetrain, then fire it up Monday if all goes well.
The parts store I work out will be closed, Monday, so hopefully I won't end up missing any odds n ends for the fire-up, Monday, but we'll see. About to head back to the shop...

I spend the morning pulling a c-6 out of the junkyard then cleaned it up getting ready for the install in my Galaxie Wagon tommorrow. Hopefully it's a smooth go and I will have it all up and running around Noon before it gets too damn hot like it was earlier and I don't feel like finishing.

Spent Friday working on the Falcon. Bought new tires, installed seat belts, worked on the brakes.

Yesterday I was out at Bristol Dragway all day shooting the MoPar Thunder event.

Today we're driving the hot rod to church, then I've got to mow the grass, install new door locks on the Falcon and figure out what brake parts I need.

Then tomorrow we're going down to Hickory, NC for a late model stock car race.

I'll rest up when I'm back at work on Tuesday! ;)

Doing more sheetmetal work. Now that the passenger side is done, I hope to get a good chunk of the drivers side floor in, and maybe even started on the rear drivers quarter.

Im in Brazil, so you guys gotta post me some pics.
Got an O/T frame stripped, needs some welding / grinding etc before it can go to blasting and powdercoat, same with suspension pcs.
Gotta move that stuff out so I can get on 63 Impala fender patches.

  25. I dunno...maybe. There's beer that needs to be consumed. Somebody needs to keep the brewers employed.

  26. Realigning the body mounts in the '29 in anticipation of fabricating new floors! Plus with a little 'ADD' problem, anything else on the car I decide to fool with...

  27. I'll be changing the head gasket on my FED and building a 472 Caddy for Bigredtodds F-100 Earl. Good times!:D

  28. I think I'll be helping with that too. ;)
