Kool66 - those are great photos. Do you have any idea where (or should I say what) they were taken from?

Look to that crowd! Those must have been some
DARN GOOD homemade pies! (I don't see anything
in there newer than about 1930. S'pose that's the
    approximate year???)

I'm with Twin: COOL pix, Kool66! Shoot, HAD to
have been shot from a plane-for-hire, recreational
balloon, etc. -- SOMETHING to get such an elevated per-
    spective.

On the aerial photos i suspected Irish Hills,Michigan area.It hit me while researching the history of the area yesterday,THE TWIN TOWERS,WOODEN OBSERVATION towers built in the twenties next to Michigan Ave,or US 12 or US 112.The pics are too clear to be taken from an airplane. The golf course pic has the last letters LLS Golf course. The Irish Hills golf course is right across the street from the towers!I also found a postcard online with a drawing from the ground showing a large restaurant off to the side of the towers not the same building but nevertheless there were commercial buildings around the towers.i've got a request into the local chamber of commerce asking for some info from the twenties but i think i've solved the mystery. The towers still stand but but have been closed to visitors since the early 2000's.Barbecue also seems popular as both the large stand and a smaller one in front of the golf course buliding advertise this item!

    "1913 Federal truck"

I'm not sure exactly when or where this pic
was taken, but as it already looks somewhat
old and worn, probably some years after this
1913 Federal truck was originally built.

    Blackout

At night a complete blackout was ordered to make it harder for enemy bombers to find out which part of Britain they were flying over. Windows of factories and homes had to be covered before inside lights were switched on so that no light whatsoever could be seen from the outside. Street lighting was not permitted.

Car and cycle headlights were masked so that only a dim light showed through narrow slits.

In the dark streets people carried masked torches - but it was still dangerous and difficult to move about. Barrage balloons, designed to stop enemy aircraft flying low over towns and cities, made an unusual night 'skyscape' as they were picked out by search light beams.

I'm not sure of the year of this Federal
'Model WD' logging truck, but the picture
    was dated 1918.

    The First Chevrolet

WE'LL BE THERE: W. C. Durant (standing, right, in bowler) and Louis Chevrolet (sans hat) admire the first Chevrolet car in 1912. The trouble was, the two men didn't agree just where "there" was and soon parted ways as Durant made the Chevrolet into a smaller and cheaper (and much more popular) car. At the wheel is Durant's son Cliff, his wife, Adelaide, beside him. Can anyone recognize any other faces?

ooooo...That is a toughy. Race cars are always hard because they are usually "hack" jobs made from "garage made" parts or parts from other makes....so there is really no way to I.D. what it is.....or what it started as for that matter, unless it was a factory built car. Definitely a 4-banger, can't see the radiator with the stone guard in the way...the chain drive narrows it down a bit, but don't know otherwise.

I thought this car was actually an mid or late 1911 car, but wasn't put into production until 1912?
