Actually I do remember that mag. I was in that book from 62 'til 76 as well as HOT ROD CARTOONS, CYCLETOONS, CAR CRAFT and ROD 'n CUSTOM. Check out my web site for some old memories, and I more than anyone miss those good old days. Damn I wish they would come back.

    Hey THINK WITH YOUR DIPSTICK.
Just noticed......My 2 year run in CAR CRAFT was titled "DIPSTICK". It ran from '65 thru 66 about a hot rod club with 5 guys and leader was Dipstick.

  8. Yep, as F1 Fred stated, Car Craft again features Krass & Bernie! The best reason to get the OT magazine and it's nice to see what the mag is up to, really looks like all the 'zines if that nature are strugling, hopefully K&B stay around, thanks George for all the laughs, really makes my day to see your heroes alive and kicking!

I need help. All you CARtoons and HOT ROD CARtoons experts please search your old magazines. I'm looking for a cartoon I submitted and never saw in print. I can't remember the title ,but the story line was of a kid at a stock car, or midget, race and he was collecting programs and laying them out on the bleachers. He then used them as flags to flag the race, same as the flagman does. As the race was on it's last lap a guy sitting behind the kid grabbed a program to see who the driver of the winning car was. The kid went wild and wapped the guy with a program and said," Never take a flagman's checkered flag." I did this story some time in the 70's. It and a few others do not appear in my book, CARTOONS ON WHEELS, because I either lost that issue or I never bought it. Help...Anyone.

I actually have a second edition CARtoons from I think 1960. The first CARtoons was in the cenrefold of another magazine

  13. I had hopes of being in there but never wrote them. When I was a kid I began trying to develop a 'toon' with two
Jamaican dudes traveling around in a hot, thoroughly thrashed beetle. It basically sucked. Had I submitted it, I'd
have been asked to never contact them again... :D

Now, where's the rest of the answer to that letter, the teaser is buggin' me...

Trosley's great, and the rest of the contributing artists were/are very inspirational.

  14. Beautiful work on your web sight Mr. Boatman. I'll be looking into your shamelessly
plugged book, it looks like a "must have."
