  2. My favourite jet of all time but I'm biased. I grew up in North Bay Ontario where there were lots of these, plus VooDoos, Bomarc missiles, Vicounts, etc. Nicknamed the "Clunk". Neat times.

And the CT-33 Silver Star . I can still hear the sound of the Rolls-Royce engine. :)

There aren't any cords showing, there's lots of miles left on that baby.

I have so much confidence in HAMB members that I'll bet one can come along and identify year and make of that car/truck.

After looking at everything here, I decided I had some photos to contribute too. These are mostly from Oklahoma. My Mother framed my Dad's medals and patches a few years ago from his time in WWII. He was a propeller mechanic in England which served him well as he moved to Wichita, Kansas in 1951 and worked for Boeing until his retirement.

(This being my first attempt at this, I hope it works out.) I don't have a lot of pictures from the 70's and earlier, but I do have a few I'd like to share.

I neglected to mention that my Dad worked on Jimmy Stewart's airplane as they were stationed at the same base northeast of London.

    http://v8racecar.wordpress.com/the-1972-supercar-scare/

"The Falcon GTHO Phase IV, Torana XU-1 V8, and two Valiant Charger projects were all happening in early/mid 1972 with Bathurst’s Hardie-Ferodo 500 in mind. Chrysler was working on two ideas, a six cylinder update of the E38 and a separate V8 car. Ultimately, of all these projects, only Chrysler’s six cylinder E49 eventuated.
Most of the bad publicity surrounding these cars came about through public comment to a newpaper article which made the front page of Sydney’s “Sun Herald” on June 25th 1972; the story talked of 160mph race cars being registered for the suburban streets.
The article was written by the well regarded Evan Green, himself a respected motorsport driver and enthusiast and, ironically a Channel Seven contracted Bathurst commentator."
