I don't think I have ever seen that car before. What part of the country was it from.

 

That was Jack Ditmar's short-lived r.e. A/FC Vega.Destroyed the car at Indy in August of 72. Dennis Doubleday

 

who built the vega...? never seen that one...


what ever became of the awb coupe...?

 

The Vega is a R&B creation.I'm pretty sure I heard his coupe is being/has been restored. Dennis Doubleday

 

Crashed in 72? I thought the car lived on passed that. It seemed that a lot of the rear engine floppers didnt fare well. Larry Derr's Glas Rat rear engine Vega was another example. It crashed on its maiden voyage at Irwindale. Unfortunately Derr succomed to his iunjuries.

 

This tach's been in my Nova since 1973 and still works great!

 

Does antone know if there was ever another Chuckwagon after it was destoyed in a crash in Norwalk Ohio in the late 90's.

I was watching the Drags on TV one day , and both Shirley Mulldowny and Joe Amato called him "Snowblower" in their interviews.

 

When Snow pioneered the return of direct drive in 1988 Paul Smith used to call him the "high gear queer".
