Hey... I took both of those pictures back in 1961 at the Sanford Dragway in Sanford Maine...The 2nd coupe is still around and is being restored to the way is was in the picture..

I took one more coupe picture that day that was as good as those two but I can't find it ! Both of those car were my insperation to build the coupe I now have

Haha...that's one of the fist things I noticed...
Have ya seen the seats? Made from exhaust tubing....
Cars built during the 60's were sooo cool.....today's "interpretations" don't quite "get it", with a few exceptions, like the Rash/Marshall coupe.

You really need to get to work on yer coupe Paul.....it looks killer so far.

    the seats look very mod,
but I can't imagine it'd be easy to stay on them

I realize it's not an unusual style car I'm building
but did you notice the similarities between Marshall's latest and my '30 Coupe?
I started mine first, Marshall saw it,
then coincidentaly he builds a '60s style, channeled, unchopped, fenderless, '30 Coupe, chrome wheels, cheaters and all?

if nothing else he has good taste :) ;)

edit: ..and I am working on it, I'm just a little slow :)
should be test firing the engine this week

by the way this thread scratches me right where I itch

edit: the old thread did have more pictures of the car, including the later versions of it, but have since been removed over time

The primmered coupe was mine from about 20 years ago. The shinny black one is a favorite from a 60's car magazine.

Beyond a doubt, the most beautiful A coupe I have ever seen.

    The B*** Coupe.

The shiny black one was actually very dark green, the print is color shifted a bit.

Wish I still had this one. It was started in the fall of 1960 with big plans to finish it in '61. Stored it away for the winter in an unheated garage in St. Paul, MN... didn't drain the rad. Needless to say the block cracked so we parted it out. Too bad, it would have been a really nice car today.

We built this coupe and sent it to a guy in Oklahoma City. He took home trophies in the PRIMERED/CONSTRUCTION ZONE within a couple of weeks after recieving it.:D:D

Love the blue coupe........love those Packard wheels..........and we ALL know I love a BOP engine, ESPECIALLY in gold.:D

So much inspiration for the A in the shop....at least the Hemi isn't going in it anymore and we've UPGRADED to a ROCKET.:D

  29. I agree... that baby could be a real 60's throwback... ditch the radials, the stock headlights, the alternator, the GBP wannabe hood scoop, the four bar rear end, the HPC coating on the headers... and the filled roof and it would be pretty period!
