Deuce roadster update - just a car built in a barn

Well, I thought it was about time to post a few update and build pictures of my 32 roadster. I've been lurking alot here on the HAMB and have taken a lot of inspiration from many of the great rides on this site. No, it's not done yet (the question I get asked by all the guys around town), but we are getting close. It has been an 8-year father-son project and man have I learned a lot.

-Brookville (steel) body
-Rootlieb hood (20 louver)
-original firewall
-2"chopped Lobeck windshield
-original 32 frame (Model A front crossmember)
-4"dropped Superbell I-beam
-32 unsplit wishbone
-shortened torque tube
-1940 Ford rear end
-1949-53 239 cu. in. flathead
-Navarro heads and intake
-Mallory ignition
-2 -Holley 94 carbs
-Red's headers
-stainless exhaust with Smithy's mufflers
-1937 3 -speed trans
-stock black interior
-Knecht 1932 Auburn instrument panel with S-W gauges
-all chasis components are powder-coated

Just wondering, how close is it to a test ride?...or are you going to finish it 100% before testing?

Reason I ask is a long term project sometimes needs a little reward

 

Love the green wheels. Care to expound on where you purchased the paint. I want to paint my AA wire's that same color. I was looking at the tcpglobal color charts and they have a similar color but I would like confirmation as paint costs today are ridiculous.

Thanks for all of the comments guys! It has been a long haul. The wires have been powder coated as close to the original green found in 32. I flipped through some available powder books and picked something close. Next time I am in getting something done I will try to find out for you.

F&J - I hope to fire it up before the snow flies and at least take it up the driveway.

 

wiring is next on the to do list.

Wow, very well done. Mark me down as another one who really likes the color combination you came up with. Nice selection of engine goodies too, everything appears to blend in well with the other pieces for knock out engine compartment.

Whats wrong with the headlights? I like the black and green combination too. Not like it hasn't been said already. Nice to see a fellow Canadian hit one out of the park. Nice car. That a Princess auto sandblasting cabinet?
