Hey guys, well I found these 2 neat old license plates in an old barn I was going through the other day. I know it might sound like a stupid question to ask to id a license plate but theres no state or anything on these. Both of them are just numbered. They are definitely old but I dont know what they are, or what they went on. Any clues? The plates are much more heavy then the typical metal license plate.

I'd guess they are not license plates at all. I have never seen a license plate with numbers only

A lot of very early tags were only numbers. It is possible these could have been for school busses or taxis. The reason they are heavy is because they are porcelain.

I could absolutely see that. Although they are not porcelain.

My guess is some type of "fleet" or taxi tags. One hole in each corner is odd for a license.

all the old porcelain plates I've ever seen were flat.

if they are license plates I bet they are foriegn.

I agree, maybe something for a fleet of trucks or Taxis?

you say they are heavy.. are they stamped or cast?
