Here is mine, a Ford -27 tudor parts, very rosty forest find, but its going to be a home made coupe.

  2. Best I can tell, mine needs the bottom 8 inches replaced but with just $150 invested so far, I can afford a BUNCH of patch panels.

I typically won't mess with a rusty car but finding a "solid" '59 El Camino on a tight budget doesn't happen. Good thing I like sheetmetal & body work.

Nicklas sweden, nice proportions on that T chop, the side profile looks bitchen!

  6. I've definitely seen alot worse but here is what I started with. It's missing about 6" of the bottom of the car.

  7. Although it's exciting to run across an old rusty survivor in a field or in the woods, it is far better to see rusty raw material like this ....

No shit, if if that's not bad enough my only real experience with sheet metal is with my firewall on my '35. I picked up two brand new quarters from from eb@y and CL that are both Brookville units so that's going to be better then fixing the originals. But yeah I have a lot of work ahead of me. I might have to let some stuff go to even start on it.

One good thing is that I have some really talented friends that can guide me through getting this thing back into shape.

Well that one is a definite challenge!

Some of the worse cars on the board aren't showing up in this thread....
They are in the for sale section as original "Gems" and don't want the honor of being listed here!

The floor has been replaced and its waiting patiently for me to get my skill level up to doing the 2" top chop.

That roof kinda looks to me like someone knew exactly what they were going for but gave up in trying to make it. I think unless it's totally trashed and the window is jacked, some tweaking on that roof might just be awesome.

  16. Mine was fairly rusted

  17. You wanna see rust? My 37 Chev delivery, no front sheet metal, no back door. I'm thinking about cutting off the back part of the top and side panels and putting on a 2 door sedan. Will have shorter side panels and longer doors. Lots of work I know but that's how you make something nobody else has.

Here are some pix of my 50 Merc. It might not qualify for this thread, but it has me going crazy because of the purchase price.

This thread is kind of like hanging out with losers to make me feel good about myself. My Merc now looks in my eyes like it is fresh from the showroom floor in comparison. Nice thread Shane!

Here's the driver and passenger side cowl bottoms of my '36 (from North Dakota). Pretty good examples of the rest of the bottom 3" of the car, lots of internal rot. You should have seen the frame! Ha, wasted!

Not a contender for the rustiest by any means though!
