I got the disc conversion kit from speedway for an F1 axle. The bearing adapters can either be pressed on or heated up and driven on. My spindles are on the axle and the kingpins are in good shape so instead of trying to press them on with everything ***embled i'm going to do the option of heating them up instead.

Speedway says to heat them up to 400 degrees. My question his how long in the oven is this going to take? Is 1/2 hr long enough?

Have you measured what the interference fit is yet?

Alright I admit had a duh moment, the online instructions said to preheat. I posted before I opened up the box, they were a CPP conversion kit and their instuctions were differant and the adapters actually slipped on. A little red loc***e will hold them in place. Maybe the online instructions were from a differant vendors kit?

I just installed a CPP brake setup on my Fleetline and I used a piece of 1 1 /2" PVC pipe to drive them on wthout risking damaging them. Not much interference fit, but you would need a puller of some sort to get them off.

you can preheat them or why not get some mapp gas and heat them as they will fall right into place when they are heated a bit. you can always help it a little with a piece of pipe and hammer.

I think they make the adapters to marginal specs, some may need help going on, some may slip right on. I's measure them with a mic if they don't slip on, just to make sure they don't fit too tight and that would result in damaging them.

2X 29nash. I had to modify a set I had because clearance was to tight. An easy way to heat the adaptor is to set it on an incandesant light bulb 60 or 100 watt. Baby will it get HOT! It will be good to go in a couple of minutes. Don't burn your fingers.

i 2nd 55dude. I use map gas and heat until they start to change color, then slide them on. Be deliberate because they cool quickly.
