Hey guys... Has any one with mechanical brake passed the NSRA free safety inspection? I was looking at there web site and it only said the car has to have brakes on all 4 wheels. But the check list for the inspection it self states 4 wheel hydraulic brakes. thanks Bill
I doubt that they have anybody qualified to judge the effectiveness/safety of a mechanical brake system. The brake system on hot rod Nash don't have any billett/shiny/"clean" parts.........
Well, actually, he does have a "street rod". More correctly, to use "traditional" terminology, he has a hot rod. Sneak a look at his profile and check out his Model A. That's the way original hot rods were built. Most had hydraulic brakes, some did not.
Why worry about what the NSRA thinks? They are a thing of the past anyway. They did a lot for the hobby in the first two decades but have lost sight in my humble opinion. Now I gotta go work on my AMC Pacer so I can go to an NSRA show..................
My car club has a rule all members cars have to pass the NSRA Safety Inspection VERY GUY RULE... but its a cool car club
