Get ready, King Of Trucks is coming...

  1. I just finished reading your thread . Good lord, you have a lot of patience. It's neat that you are learning as you go. I'm partial to the 55 thru 57 Chevy trucks also. Been driving mine for about 5 years now. Here's mine.

    Leonard,

Can't wait to see it down. Holler at me after you do the front. Let me know what you did and how it turned out. I'd appreciate it.

Don't you touch that sumbitchin' boat. The boat is mine. The boat is MINE!!!

    Hahaha, looks cool!

    Dick,

I love your truck. I saved some pics a while back. Your stance is perfect!

Thanks. I couldn't do 1/2 of what I do without friends. Its all because of them that I've been able to get this far.

    Semi righteous tires for now...

    Teaser...

Firestone H78x15. Not ideal, but still miles better than thin white radials. Righteous Firestone 670's/710's soon. More pics when its not raining.

You can wash that truck. But don't you touch them sumbitchin' tires. The tires are MINE!

The tires were from Joe, BoobieBuddy.

    Too late...

H78x15 Firestone. They look huge. Still cooler than the radials though.

Size WW Width Construction Tread Width Section Width Overall Diameter
    H78-15 3 4 ply poly 5.74 8.55 28.36

28.36 isn't too bad. The section width is a tad wide but beggars can't be choosers and they' probably look great!

looking good terd... the more i see them little lakes pipes the more i like them.
cant wait to see a full side shot of your truck with them new rims and tires.
i messed with my rear today and got it flipped. i originally took 4 of the 7 leafs out and shackle extensions for about a 3.5 drop.
now with the flip i put the 4 leafs back in the pack, put it together, and it was too low. had about 1/8 clearance before hitting the frame. took the extended shackles out and put the short factory shackles in and now i got 1 inch of travel. perfect. gotta fab up my lower shock bracket, welding them to my bottom leaf plate, then tighten everything up, then i will take some pics.
then, its on to the front. hopefully next week sometime....

They fill up the rear wheel wells, that's for sure. The reversed rims make them seem even larger. It does look pretty good though.

Thanks Leonard! Cant wait to see how yours turns out. Good luck with the front end.

Hahahaha! It rained like forty hells here today. I'll get some good pics up tomorrow.

A touch of little book nostalgia, but run down. Much like our current state of affairs in the world. I can't take credit for this spot though. Kenny had his bike shot here for Outlaw biker.

See what a set of nice tires'll do!!! Even the burnt orange wheels look pretty killer with some new tires dude.....but I am digging the way those Chrome Wheels look with the lake pipes.

Lower the front end or don't dude. This stance looks pretty appropriate for the era!

Oh yeah, that's the ticket, I wonder if painting the front wheels silver for the time being would better. NOT fake chrome looking silver, just silver. Still lower the front when you can afford it, I can't wait to see it in person tomorrow night! This truck has been changing every week, thats entertainment, whatcha gonna do next?
