the grain shoot on my 48 is about 3 feet from the front of the box on the drivers side.yes it has a door that slides up.

this is what not to do to an A/D truck this is my old 53 that i sold about a year ago . it has a 7" chop ,a fliped frame ,it's z'ed 16" and the bed is bobed 2'.it has a buick 455 w 3 duces.

'51 5W daily transportation. '57 261/Saginaw passenger car 4speed/3:54 rear end. 3"dropped axle/mono leaf. Still dialing in the suspension/ride height... rear needs to be one or two inches lower.
Originally built as a restored truck for a lady in Austin TX. A friend there found it and helped me buy it and ship it to Nevada. Decent work, but a long way from finished and dependable... Entire suspension/brakes have been either replaced or re-done, needed to be re-wired. New tires. Lots of paint detailing and refinishing of the bed wood, etc. But the price was right and I haven't had to spend much (so far) to make it right. Turning out to be a good driver, though and a lot of fun to drive.
