Wow, SWI! Lots of wild prop cars in yer post (4770). Happen
to know any particulars about this one, obviously influenced
    by the growing streamlining movement???

Hey, Jimmy. Is that the one they called the Blitzen Benz, the one Bob Burman (I seem to recall) took over driving duties when Barney Oldfield got himself in the doghouse?

Yep. It was called a "Schienenzeppelin",
German for "Rail Zeppelin". There's some
info and more pics of it here:

Sorry if I break in, but you are correct! That is the Blitzen Benz in 1911 when Burman got crowned "Speed King of the World" by Harvey Firestone at the Indianapolis Speedway.

I am still looking for pictures of the Blitzen Benz (this car) and the "Jumbo Benz" which according to Ernie Moross' press machine had 300hp!

The 2 Blitzen Benzes did some demonstration races in San Diego in 1912, and I would certainly like to find a picture of the 2 together.

    :DCAPTION - "Sadly, Clarence found
out the hard way, that 'once a nerd,
always a nerd' and that even posing
for photos on a trendy new 'Gnome &

    him appear 'cool'!

    Here's a shot of a LaBatt's Art Deco streamliner in 1936 when
it was NEW, THANKS to HubGarage.com! Somebody yank my
chain if this shot has been on this thread earlier.

Jimi, I think the Labatt's truck is a first here - not to worry. One can never see too many pix of that! Here's a Chrysler Airflow, perhaps 1934, from that same era of streamlining and deco.
