Another successful event by the Knotinentals are now in the can and history. What a good time every one had and plenty of non stop action.I believe Amy and I covered just about every pit area and did a lot of track shots. We are now in the process of editing some 300+ shots and will try to have them posted by tomorrow evening. Hope you enjoy them as much as we did taking many pictures and having a lot of our friends come by and say hello.
I had a great time at the races with my nephew. It was his first ever drag race and he refused to completely put his ear plugs in. The kid was smiling from ear to ear all day. And he was none stop talking about building a hot rod like DirtyJohn's and painting it green all the way home. He favorite part of the day was getting it sit in John's 27 Model T and pretending he was driving it and then sitting in the p***enger seat and John firing it up. Hell the picture below explains it all. Since moving to TX this is one of the better show of cars I have seen. I look forward to meeting more HAMB members too.
Thats what its all about and there were many familys out there with the kids and all were wide eyed. We shot a lot of people pic's this time and hope we got all the cars. We covered the entrance area to the staging lanes several times and only had about a dozen blank shots so we feel we got a decent event coverage. Our next event is Boerne on October 8-9-10 and they have 1948 back so there will be many vintage Hamb friendly cars to look at. We already have the Day at the Drags for next year in out book and wouldn't miss it for any thing.
Wish I coulda been there but I'm hogtied to Seguin and Marion for life. Will you be at the Drags in Marion Oct 23? Come by my striping booth in Boerne and say hi.
Thanks for posting the photos, they're good. This was the best Day of the Drags yet as far as I'm concerned and I'm sure that it was the biggest. A friend of mine brought along his six year old son for the first time and he was absolutely stoked. I think that one more person has been permanently corrupted and it is equally due to the cars and the people.
Anyone get a pic of the Skotz FED bieng pulled by his 5 window 32 ? I tried but it was at a funny angle..
Wanted to get up there but I spent the entire day getting the '67 Dart up and running and re-threading some boogered wheel studs on the '55. Used to run Little River when I lived in Temple back in the mid 80's...Just remember it was always sticky hot and no shade...Yesterday looked like a really nice turnout....Maybe next time!
Oh its the same one... 25+ years later...I guess it still has the shut down area that isnt quite straight?...It was fun, just not in the middle of summer! Enough...back on topic...
We will see you there and I just got all the DOD pictures hung on the hotrodchatgallery so knock your lights out. We put up 347 pictures and most are pretty good so hope you enjoy.!
Thanks for the pics ! I was in the green/rust '55 Chevy 4 door and my dad was setting the timing when you got some photos of us. We had a blast !! Can't wait till next year ! -Aaron
